    France 3-0 South Korea

South Korea look a bit more compact at the start of this second half but France are still able to play around, through and over them.

Kadidiatou Diani's touch lets her down though and Hwang Bo-ram gets a toe-in and robs her of possession in the box.

South Korea just need to keep the ball better and they have to challenge Wendie Renard better in defensive areas.

Jon Salinger: Loving this opening game of the FIFA WWC - really refreshing game of football with no diving or fake injuries. The Men could learn a lot from watching this. The French Women are on fire!

    France 3-0 South Korea

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

The South Koreans haven't laid a finger on Wendie Renard. They have given one of the best headers of the ball in the world a free run to pick her spot.

You cannot sit off her like that. You can't not notice her. It's been too easy.

As expected, it's been Chelsea's Cho So-hyun and Lyon's Eugenie Le Sommer who have been the best players for their respective nations so far.

Le Sommer is a serious talent and I think she could potentially win the Golden Ball if France go all the way in this tournament. It's a stage set for her to shine.

I thought the use of VAR was to overturn clear and obvious errors? France's second goal that was disallowed for offside is a joke! No official in the world could have called that as offside.

  10. 'Breathless first-half display'published at 20:57 British Summer Time 7 June 2019

    HT: France 3-0 South Korea

    Tom Garry
BBC Sport at Le Parc des Princes

This capacity crowd have been treated to a breathless first-half display from the hosts, who will take some stopping in this tournament if they're going to play with this much desire, this movement and this deafening backing from the stands.

The energy - both on the pitch and around the stadium - is unlike anything I've seen in the women's game since the 2016 Olympics and the last World Cup.

I am so impressed by Wendie Renard. She is unstoppable and she times here run perfectly. South Korea cannot stop her.

Delphine Csacarino has a touch of the Eden Hazard's about here doesn't she?

She has had a splendid first-half for France.

She's got skill and great pace and she had four players around her at one point and she thought 'no you can't get this ball off me, I will drag you towards me and make space for a teammate.'

The only thing missing for her is a goal.

  13. “Effortless!”published at 20:54 British Summer Time 7 June 2019

Here's Wendie Renard using her aerial ability to head in the host's second goal of the game.

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Wendie Renard is a good six inches taller than the player marking her.

But she has to make an effort to get a shoulder in and close it down and put her off in some way. South Korea haven't been able to do that.

  15. Postpublished at 20:52 British Summer Time 7 June 2019

    HT: France 3-0 South Korea

10 of Wendie Renard's last 11 goals for France have come from headers.

Her first goal in this match was her first international goal since she scored against England in March 2017.

The pressing and the energy from every French player meant South Korea could not get anywhere near them.

All you need is a good delivery into the box with pace and Wendie Renard will score a goal. It's an out swinger but it's poor defending and there is no real challenge on her.

GOAL - France 3-0 South Koreapublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 7 June 2019

    Wendie Renard

Oh, she's done it again! The centre-back peels away from her marker but still has plenty to do when the ball flies her way deep into the box.

She gets so much power on it and it flies into the top left corner. Excellent head, excellent start from France and excellent start to this World Cup.

    Another corner to France.
