What a well worked corner kick that was. you can see that has been practiced again and again.

It's a fantastic header back across and it's a quality finish from the centre-half. I think it hits her shin but she manages to get her head over it.

    Oh NICE!

From one centre-back to another. A corner comes out to the edge of the box and it's flicked back towards the far post.

Griedge Mbock Bathy, who attempted that overhead kick earlier, pulls off another acrobatic masterpieces and half-volleys it into the net.

Jang Sel-gi does brilliantly to only concede a corner as the French drive down the right once again.

Amandine Henry is at the centre of it all but Eugenie Le Sommer, who was in aces of space on the left, didn't receive the pass when she wanted it.

    France 1-0 South Korea

So far, South Korea have dealt with the aerial threat of Wendie Renard on set-pieces and did so again this time.

France whip it back into the box and Griedge Mbock Bathy, who is clearly full of confidence, tries an audacious overhead kick. It doesn't come off but the coaching staff are loving that!

    France 1-0 South Korea

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Cho Sohyun is much more of an influence on this game than any other South Korean player.

She's centre-back, she's central midfield, she's holding the ball, making tackles, she's a class apart for them. If she wasn't on the field you would seriously fear for South Korea.

Delphine Cascarino almost goes all the way before she's eventually tackled but South Korea just can't get it through to Ji So-yun in the centre.

    France 1-0 South Korea

    Sue Smith

You can see South Korea are nervous, particularly at the back. We have to credit France for how they have started and how they have made their opponents make mistakes.

    France 1-0 South Korea

A nice spell from South Korea here as they finally get the ball down and string a few passes together.

A couple of nice, one-touch passing helps them escape danger in the right corner before it's launched long to Jung Seol-bin. Griedge Mbock Bathy is there to mop up for France.

Ashley: Nicely worked goal and finish by Le Sommer. Decent start to the opening game.

Andy: South Korea are TERRIBLE - I genuinely think this could be 6 or 7 and we're only 10 minutes in

Sulaimon: This could be the start of the best Women's World cup thus far because of the hype and the way Women's football has evolved over the last 4 years.

It's been a demolition so far. The joint-favourites are really putting down a marker in their opening match.

Amel Majri's corner is aimed towards the tall figure of centre-back Wendie Renard but South Korea deal with it fairly comfortably.

    France 1-0 South Korea

    Sue Smith

That is exactly what France would have wanted. They have been threatening from the off and South Korea have looked very vulnerable at the back.

As soon as they get the ball they drive forward and Eugenie Le Sommer times here run perfectly. It's a cool finish.

    Eugenie Le Sommer

It's that deadly duo of Amandine Henry and Eugenie Le Sommer that threatened to dominate this match.

Henry skips away down the right and cuts it back into the centre for Le Sommer, who makes a brilliant run in off the left wing.

She hits it first time, up and into the roof of the net. That's the first goal of the 2019 World Cup and it goes to the hosts!

The movement from France when they go forward is exceptional. Both full-back's like to push on to give them that width.

Lyon's Delphine Cascarino, who has been in electric form recently, nut-megs the full-back on the right and pops up another inviting cross.

It's a corner to the French, who are absolutely loving this atmosphere. They are on fire!
