Ross: Wowww what a perfectly placed corner. Telegraphed to Renard's head...

Ashley: I think John Stones must have been coaching the Korean defenders. Truly awful.

Two minutes of stoppage time to go in the first half. Another corner from France is more comfortably cleared.

Yoon Dukyeo, the South Korean head coach, is gesturing to his players to push up as they win a throw-in in their own half.

They can't escape though and Cho So-hyun loses possession before Elise Bussaglia drags her shot well wide of the keeper's right post.

    France 2-0 South Korea

Ji So-yun, who has barely had a touch in this first half, finally enjoys a bit of possession out on the right wing.

She combines nicely with Kang Yu-mi before left-back Amel Majri breaks it down. France then counter with pace and efficiency down the opposite flank.

France have a real blend of experienced players and those younger players coming through. That is why I think they are such a threat and have a real chance of going on and winning this.

    Utterly, utterly dominant!

When the delivery from the corner is THAT good, you'd always back Wendie Renard to head home.

As the home supporters celebrate wildly again, the PA system blasts out Katy Perry's 'Firework' this time, and the tournament has certainly exploded in to life with this red hot first-half performance from the French.

  9. 'Such a threat from set-pieces'published at 20:39 British Summer Time 7 June 2019

If you get the delivery right, Wendie Renard will score. She doesn't even need to jump, she just gets her positioning spot on. She is such a threat from set-pieces.

    Wendie Renard

They thought it was 2-0... it is now!

And there's that Wendie Renard set-piece goal. She left completely unmarked - which is simply criminal - and she just has to nod in the corner which is swung in from the right.

It's straight into the keeper's bottom right corner and there's nothing she can do about it.

The French players aren't happy. They feel that it should be 2-0 and they should be in cruise mode.

Excellent reaction save from Kim Min-jung as Eugenie Le Sommer is slipped in nicely by Amel Majri.

The goalscorer's first touch is perfect and it takes her beyond the defender. She then smashes it high and towards the top of the net - where she placed the opening goal - but Kim manages to get a fingertip to it.

The verification said 'goal'. They got this badly wrong. It should not have been showing goal on the screen.

Her foot was just offside - so they have got the decision right. The referee was brave there.

The boos and the whistles are deafening! The crowd are furious.

It's a vast contrast to the scene from just moments earlier, when there was delirious dancing and chanting to 'Freed from Desire', the song that Northern Ireland fans and many others enjoyed so much here two years ago with changed lyrics referring to a certain Will Grigg.

To be honest, most people would be terrified if they were in this South Korea defence, on the basis of the opening half an hour.

    France 1-0 South Korea

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

There are very few teams in world football who can go at the pace that France have done over 90 minutes or even 45 minutes but the problem is that South Korea have kept giving the ball away.

Lee Young-ju has given the ball away three or four times under pressure and that leaves here teammates out of position and in trouble. She cannot afford to do that against a side like France.

That is the real positive thing about VAR in that it does come to the right decision. It's just the time it takes.

South Korea have been given a lifeline. The French don't look like holding up any time soon though. Surely a second will come before half-time?
