Australia 1-0 Italy
Sam Kerr gives Australia a first-half lead. This game is still anybody's though. A real contest. Don't go anywhere!
Australia 1-0 Italy
Chloe Logarzo has had two decent chances to score with her head. This time she's a fair way out and she tries to get too much power on it, only sending the ball sailing over the bar.
Australia 1-0 Italy
Hayley Raso tries to find Sam Kerr with a lofty cross from the right. Kerr puts pressure on the keeper but Laura Giuliani does well to hold onto it.
Australia 1-0 Italy
Two minutes.
Australia 1-0 Italy
Aurora Galli brings down Alanna Kennedy on the left and Australia have a free-kick. Italy win the ball back and try to set Cristiana Girelli on her way but she ends up following Kennedy.
Australia 1-0 Italy

Australia 1-0 Italy
Two minutes of the first half to go. Here's that controversial VAR decision that denied Italy the opening goal.
Australia 1-0 Italy
Sure thing, Tom. It's been a cracker. I still think Italy are in this. Can they sneak an equaliser before half-time?
They will need to get the ball off Australia first. They seem content to pass it around the back for a few minutes.

We're watching the best game of the tournament so far, that's for sure.

Jonnets: Gama needs to be careful she doesn't get another yellow!
Australia 1-0 Italy
This would have been the goal of the tournament from me. Caitlin Foord dummies it, letting it roll for Ellie Carpenter on the overlap.
She races down the right and picks out Chloe Logarzo in the box. Her header is too close to the keeper and Laura Giuliani reacts well to palm it away before Sara Gama hoofs it clear.
Australia 1-0 Italy
Manuela Giugliano opens up the play in midfield with a ball out to the right. It's slotted through to Cristiana Girelli, who had made another nice run off the shoulder.
She's onside this time but the ball is slightly too heavy and keeper Lydia Williams is sharply out to the edge of the area to snuff it out.
Australia 1-0 Italy
Australia work the ball out from the back well but Ellie Carpenter opts to hook it long and Italy win possession back in midfield.
The tempo has faded a little since Sam Kerr's goal. But the atmosphere hasn't.

Sulaimon Adelekan: Sam Kerr. Big Occasion, Big player.
Australia 1-0 Italy
WHAT a save! And it's with the keeper's face too. Ouch!
Cristiana Girelli, who was well offside in the end, wanders unmarked into the centre and meets a swinging cross on the volley.
She connects well but Lydia Williams is quick off her line to make the block. A bit of water is sprayed into her face to help ease the pain!
Who did it better?
Australia 1-0 Italy
Sam Kerr is threatening at every opportunity. She makes a neat run into the right side of the box and is picked out by an excellent through ball.
She tries to cut it square for a teammate but Sara Gama just about sticks a leg out and gets it clear.
Moments later, the ball is scooped high into the box but it deceives the keeper and ends up bounces off the crossbar! Jordan Pickford-esque!

Silvio di Fede: Shades of Tim Cahill in Sam Kerr's celebration!
Australia 1-0 Italy

She was a little bit lucky that it came back to her after the initial save, but Sam Kerr has her first goal at a World Cup finals.
There's a touch of Australia legend Tim Cahill about her celebration, as she spars with the corner flag!
