Ngozi Ebere frustrates Gaetane Thiney by shielding the ball out and over the goalline. Thiney appeals for a corner but it has come off her foot and she walks away with a begrudged look on her face.

Amel Majri weaves in and out of challenges on the left before swinging a deep cross into the box. There's too much on it but keeper Chiamaka Nnadozie panics and flaps at it.

She ends up keeping it in play and inviting Delphine Cascarino to shoot but the French striker's shot is skewed well wide.

Another chance falls to Cascarino moments later but again, her shot is wide and into the side-netting.

Brilliant defending from Chidinma Okele, who uses her strength to win the ball back just outside her area.

But there's no composure and Nigeria hand possession straight back to the French with a hurried long ball.

Straight away, France win a free-kick on the left and this time they do put it into the box towards Wendie Renard.

She wins it but it skims off her head and well wide of the post. Another dangerous ball is fizzed back across from the right but there's nobody there to poke it in.

We want goals please!!!! Second half under way.

Nigeria could play Germany or Italy if they go through as a third-place team.

It's still 1-0 to Norway in their match against South Korea so the table hasn't changed. South Korea need to score at least two goals after the break to stand any chance of going through.

Norway will go through as runners-up with a win or a draw and will play the runner-up of Group C in the last 16. That is currently Australia.

France will play a third place team from Group C/D/E.

France will certainly not be happy with a 0-0 draw at full time. They have not made their chances count. It happened in previous games and it is happening now.

No shots on target in the first half. It's only the second time in the tournament this has happened.

Time to bring on Eugenie Le Sommer?

One thing I have been impressed with France is how they have controlled the transition and the counter attack. However, in terms of going forward you don't believe they are going to score yet. They don't have that penetration.

France have not done anything different in terms of their gameplan. They have played through their fullbacks and bombed forward they just have not had that final ball.

A frustrating half for France, an encouraging one for Nigeria. Both teams will take this result though.

The French are leading the group and Nigeria are going through.

OUCH. Valerie Gauvin tries to pull off an overhead volley but ends up kicking Onome Ebi straight in the face after the defender won the header first.

Both players are treated on the pitch and quickly assessed on the sidelines but will be fine to continue.

They will have a few bruises though, that's for sure.

Great skill by Cascarino on the right side to set up the chance. I think Gauvin was trying to get a flick in on goal but I am not sure how she was going to go about doing that going in at that speed.

Nigeria have done really well to keep France out so far. They are working so hard off the ball.

Delphine Cascarino steals the ball off Asisat Oshoala and skillfully skips past Ngozi Ebere on the right.

She hooks it into the box immediately but it's just behind striker Valerie Gauvin, who tries to acrobatically volley it but doesn't get a hold of it.
