Emily Conroy: I am happy with the starting 11 but I would have liked Stanway to start aswell but I can't have all the players I want starting!

Ian Halliwell: The team selection is spot on. Kirby has been the best player in the two matches she has played. Mead has put on one excellent pass and has a high work rate, but gives the ball away too often.

  2. ‘They are better than that’published at 15:34 British Summer Time 23 June 2019

    England v Cameroon (16:30 BST)

Phil Neville says Cameroon will pose a threat his England team "has not experienced" yet in this World Cup.

England's three Group D victories came against higher ranked opponents than Cameroon - the lowest ranked side left in the competition.

But Neville said, "I don't think they are the 46th best team in the world.

"They are better than that. They are a team who are very unpredictable."

Joe: No Beth? Unless she has a little knock, I don't get that decision.

Hosts France are still regarded as favourites to win the World Cup despite a looming quarter-final tie against free-scoring world number one the United States.

As France and the USA are likely to clash in the last eight, Germany are now second favourites to win the tournament.

England have a 57% chance of reaching the semi-finals, but if they do they are likely to either have to play France or the USA, meaning their chance of reaching the final drops to 22%.

The Lionesses are the most likely team to reach the quarter-finals though. According to Gracenote, they have a 95% chance of beating Cameroon today.

Sophie Picton: Hoping for a sizzling England win with all this heat in Valenciennes. Hope England 3-0 with an early goal to settle the nerves.

Sulaimon Adelekan: I have watched a fair share of the Women's world cup so far. The players who have impressed me are France's Kadidiatou Diani, Japanese playmaker Iwabuchi and England's Nikita Parris, she will be pivotal to England's victory today.

  6. Seven players risk suspensionpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 23 June 2019

    England v Cameroon (16:30 BST)

Bookings are not ruled out until after the quarter-finals meaning there are a number of players who could risk suspension today.

They would miss the quarter-final tie should their team make it through.

The good news for England is that only one player is at risk - Reading midfielder Jade Moore, who is on the bench today.

Cameroon have six players though. Christine Manie, Raissa Feudjio, Gaelle Enganamouit, Marlyse Ngo Ndoumbouck, Genevieve Ngo Mbeleck and Alexandra Takounda all start the game on yellow cards.

So there you have it. Georgia Stanway doesn't make the cut. It's Fran Kirby who starts and Toni Duggan gets the nod ahead of Beth Mead, who has been in terrific form.

I think that's a strange decision from Phil Neville. Thoughts?

    England v Cameroon (16:30 BST)

England boss Phil Neville has made three changes to the team which beat Japan 2-0 in their final group game.

Toni Duggan keeps her place instead of Beth Mead, who played in the first two group games.

Alex Greenwood comes in at left-back for Demi Stokes, Fran Kirby replaces Georgia Stanway and Nikita Parris is in for Rachel Daly.

England XI: Bardsley, Bronze, Houghton, Bright, Greenwood; Walsh, Scott; Parris, Kirby, Duggan; White.

  10. Stanway or Kirby?published at 15:16 British Summer Time 23 June 2019

    England v Cameroon (16:30 BST)

For me, the main debate is whether Phil Neville should go with Georgia Stanway or Fran Kirby in the number 10 role.

Kirby has struggled for form and confidence of late, though she performed well in the victory over Argentina.

Stanway, an ever-present for Manchester City, has really come on leaps and bounds over the last year and has impressed in her debut World Cup.

She got the nod against Japan and was arguably one of England's best players. But Kirby has the ability to produce those moments of magic...

Phil Neville has made 12 changes to the England side in two games. He is likely going to rotate again today but who would you start?

Does Georgia Stanway deserve a place in the starting XI? Should Karen Carney come back in? Has Rachel Daly played her way into contention?

  12. That dramatic winner...published at 15:12 British Summer Time 23 June 2019

    England v Cameroon (16:30 BST)

When Ajara Nchout turned inside Ria Percival in the 95th minute and curled in the winner to put Cameroon through, there were scenes of jubilation.

Her two second-half goals against New Zealand saved the blushes of teammate Aurelle Awona, who had sliced the ball into her own net with 10 minutes to spare - meaning Cameroon were heading home.

But victory in that game earned a crucial three points and that was enough to send them through ahead of Chile on goals scored as one of the best four third-placed finishers.

It kept Cameroon's dreams alive in unlikely circumstances but they face a much tougher test against an England side who finished third in 2015.

  13. Job done but a way to gopublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 23 June 2019

    England v Cameroon (16:30 BST)

England are one of five teams to have qualified for the last 16 with a 100% record.

Comfortable wins over Scotland, Argentina and Japan ensured England made it through with nine points and topped Group D.

They weren’t completely flawless though. Sloppiness allowed two goals to be shipped and made for nervy endings in their 2-1 wins over Scotland and Argentina.

Manager Phil Neville was relaxed, saying it was "job done" but admitted playing some of his fringe players led to tiredness in the second half.

"We don't need to do much work [on our sloppy passing], we just need to take care with our simple passes and need to keep it tight," Neville said at the end of the group stages.

Welcome to Valenciennes. It’s absolutely roasting.

Having travelled around France following England for the last two weeks, I can safely say this is the best pre-match atmosphere we’ve seen from the Lionesses fans.

This is a small, sleepy city on the edge of Belgium but the main square has come alive today, with A sea of red and white shirts enjoying the sun and a few bevs before the game, which has an expected crowd of over 14,000.

A few of the fans were even mingling with England players earlier, who had popped out to see friends and family. Boss Phil Neville has said all through the tournament that he wants them to be as relaxed as possible and has encouraged them to spend time with their travelling party.

The last 16 is well and truly under way but now it's England's turn to fight for a place in the quarter-finals.

England, ranked third in the world, are hoping to reach the last eight for the fourth successive tournament.

They are up against Cameroon in Valenciennes, who are into the last 16 for the second time in just their second finals.

The African side were the third lowest ranked side in the competition so have already exceeded expectations by reaching this stage.

Can they cause an upset? Or will Phil Neville's side become the third nation to book a quarter-final spot? Kick-off is an hour and a half away and it's live on BBC One.
