Megan Rapinoe's held her nerve to put two penalties away and that would have been the icing on the cake.

Megan Rapinoe is just the second player to score two penalties in a Women’s World Cup match after Spain’s Jenni Hermoso against South Africa - also this year.

Helen Boe: Soft penalty for me. If she does touch her, it's the slightest of touches.

John Pierce: Exceptionally soft penalty. Spanish player clearly deflects the ball away and the touch afterwards is incidental. No pen.

Ian: More than 5 minutes between penalty being awarded and taken. VAR is killing the beautiful game.

Almost brilliant from Megan Rapinoe. The ball bounces in front of her on the left wing and she shoots using the outside of her boot. It's wide though but was a fantastic hit.

Chris Leonard: Farcical decision making in this Women's World Cup.....VAR a disaster and so are the officials generally!!! Doing nothing for the women's game at all.

Elliott Gilmore: Wow did not look like a penalty to me. Womens World Cup 2019 and if it was where is the yellow card. These officials are so poor.

In terms of consistency, it should have been given, however slight the touch. But if I was Spanish, I wouldn't be very happy.

Spain now have 14 minutes - plus stoppage time - to save their World Cup

After all that Megan Rapinoe will now take it, and not Alex Morgan.
