Before that Japanese goal, they had failed to have a shot on target. They did come close with this effort though.

Vivianne Miedema is just so good isn't she?

Shanice van de Sanden plays the ball to her feet just inside the box. The Arsenal top scorer turns in one movement and deceives the defender.

Her shot is straight at the keeper though and a comfortable save in the end.

You have to say the Japanese have had complete control of the last 10 minutes.

I would argue that is the Goal of the Tournament so far with the intricacy of the play and that flick ball through was genius. Barcelona-esque.

What a goal that is. In my opinion that is one of the goals of the tournament.

Japan have been the better side particularly in the last 20 minutes. Great build-up play and what a finish by Yui Hasegawa.

Sameshima lays it off down the line but Dominique Bloodworth reads it. The Dutch immediately look to break but Yamashita beats Danielle van de Donk to the ball.

For 28 minutes, it was utter dominance for the Dutch but a little bit of frustration has come into their game and the Japanese are starting to play.

It was at 100mph and no team can sustain that pace.

Danielle van de Donk has been the Dutch side's best player - most creative player. She's been making those spaces for her team-mates.

Another encouraging piece of play from Japan, who are able to penetrate the space in the right corner.

Mana Iwabuchi is the target in the centre but her volley is blocked. It's fired back into the box and she leaves it for Yuika Sugasawa but it's well read by Dominique Bloodworth.

The German team are in the stands watching this match. If they can beat Sweden in their quarter-final, they could potentially face one of these sides in the last four.

They weren't making the wrong passes before but the Netherlands have just lost their rhythm slightly.

Aya Sameshima finds herself in a rare bit of space in midfield and tries to thread it through to Yuika Sugasawa, who had made a decent run in the centre.

There's too much weight on the pass though and it runs straight through to Dutch keeper Sari van Veenendaal.

There's no way out for the Japanese defenders, who are struggling to break through this high, pressing line.

Once again, the Dutch win possession in the opposition half but it's a sloppy pass inside from Shanice van de Sanden, who has been rusty so far.

Narumi Miura had problems with her shoulder in the warm-up and she has landed on it awkwardly here.

A few winces from the midfielder as she receives some treatment on the pitch. She looks to be okay though.
