  1. Experience on Norway's sidepublished at 19:19 British Summer Time 27 June 2019

    Norway v England (20:00 BST)

It might be Norway's first quarter-final since 2007 but they sure know how to win them.

Norway have progressed from four of their five Women’s World Cup quarter-finals (1991, 1995, 1999, 2007), only losing to the USA in 2003.

England have only progressed from one of their four quarter-finals - that 2-1 victory against Canada four years ago.

Phil Neville's side have won their last five matches in the competition though.

  2. Will England's pass accuracy continue to drop?published at 19:17 British Summer Time 27 June 2019

    Norway v England (20:00 BST)

    Alistair Magowan
    BBC Sport

I don't wish to pour a bucket of cold water on England's chances, although I'm sure that would be welcome in France, but the fear about England being prone to lapses is illustrated by their pass completion stats, which have deteriorated as the tournament has progressed.

According to Opta, it was 86% in the first group game against Scotland, facing Argentina 83%, against Japan 79% and playing Cameroon it was 78%.

Is that a worry? The good news is that Norway's average this tournament is 73%.

I would definitely say this England team have an extra gear. I don't think we have found the level I know we are capable of, but equally, we are in a major tournament and we all know it is about peaking at the right time.

  4. Tokyo 2020 qualificationpublished at 19:14 British Summer Time 27 June 2019

    Norway v England (20:00 BST)

Not only is a place in the semi-finals up for grabs tonight, Olympic qualification hopes are resting on this result.

There are seven European sides left in the World Cup - the USA are the only nation in the remaining eight who are from a different continent.

Only the top three European nations can qualify for Tokyo 2020 and therefore a semi-final place at least is needed.

Whoever wins this match, will need the USA to beat France on Friday (20:00 BST) to guarantee a place before their semi-final.

If France beat the USA, Norway or England will have to come third or better to qualify.

In a pre-arranged agreement, England, as the higher-ranked nation, are representing Team GB in Olympic qualification in this World Cup.

That means despite Scotland also competing, their performance was not taken into consideration for Olympic qualification purposes.

Phil Neville feels that any of the eight sides remaining are strong enough to win this tournament. He praised the high standards of play across the competition on Wednesday, adding:

"In this World Cup, the football games have been incredible. We’re watching the games together in our meal room and we’re all cheering because we’re all fighting for the same things.

"I’ve not seen a bad game. I’ve seen utter quality.

"This is a fantastic World Cup and it’s unbelievable to be a part of."

If you were watching Norway v Australia on Saturday in the last 16, you definitely would have noticed the buzz around one of Norway's midfielders, Caroline Graham Hansen.

The 24-year-old is a three-time Bundesliga champion and two-time Champions League finalist who has just agreed to leave Wolfsburg to join Barcelona, making her the first Norwegian to join Spanish giants.

I've looked at why she could cause a big problem for England's so-far resolute defence.

  11. 'Nervous excitement'published at 19:00 British Summer Time 27 June 2019

    Norway v England (20:00 BST)

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is nervous excitement as if I'm a player ready to go on the pitch. Knowing everything they have prepared and the emotions of looking around the ground.

I still feel like I should be on the pitch even though I'm physically incapable of that.

  12. 'Right decision'published at 18:59 British Summer Time 27 June 2019

    Norway v England (20:00 BST)

    Emma Hayes
Chelsea Women manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

He has gone with this team because he is worried about Caroline Graham Hansen.

She is a top player and she has a natural tendency to drift in between the centre-back and the left-back. I think it's the right decision and Demi Stokes is more defensive.

  13. 'White is like van Nistelrooy'published at 18:58 British Summer Time 27 June 2019

    Norway v England (20:00 BST)

Phil Neville said he "hadn't seen anyone better" at the World Cup than England forward Ellen White.

"Ellen has taken her game to another level. At the Euros two years ago, she played left wing. People thought she was a grafter, a worker. Now she is one of the top centre-forwards at the tournament.

"We told her to save her energy for when the big moments come, when the ball drops in the box, and she has learned the hard way. For six months she looked at me as if I had a horn in my head because I'd tell her to stop running. She'd find herself at outside left or outside right.

"Now she is like a Ruud van Nistelrooy, or an Alan Shearer, or a Michael Owen. She has turned from a hard-working grafter into a predator. That's been the biggest change."

  14. Race for the Golden Bootpublished at 18:56 British Summer Time 27 June 2019

    Norway v England (20:00 BST)

England striker Ellen White has picked up four goals in the opening four matches and is hot on the heels of USA star Alex Morgan and Australia captain Sam Kerr in the race for the Golden Boot.

Only Morgan remains in the competition and her five goals against Thailand still lead the way. White has a chance to draw level with her today ahead of the USA's quarter-final with hosts France on Friday.

Phil (Neville) has glued everything together and built on the foundations of our previous managers. He has played the game and been at the top and he knows how football works.

He has come into this environment and he is very relaxed. There has been so much chat about his rotation but I think it means he trusts everyone in his squad.

  17. 'Have to keep rising levels'published at 18:51 British Summer Time 27 June 2019

    Norway v England (20:00 BST)

England top-scorer Ellen White on earning her first of 85 caps against Norway: "It's a long time ago it seems now...

"I'm definitely buzzing to play against a big team, tough team, so it’s exciting."

On defensive issues in victory over Cameroon: "That’s football, if you look at any team going through this tournament, there are mistakes.

"We did well the other night, we won and we’re looking forward to Norway and we’re up for the challenge and we’re ready for it.

"We have been performing as each game goes on we are getting better. To be world class you have to keep rising your levels and we are doing that."

Phil Neville shouldn't have to justify his selection.

It doesn't matter what every other country has done, all that matters is they have got a method to get to the final and everything else is irrelevant.

Phil has to back himself and get on with winning the World Cup.
