Everton are a bit leggy already. It shows you how much effort they put into that first half.

Usually at Goodison they have a really strong last 15 minutes so for Everton it's up to them to survive until then, and for Arsenal to make good use of this spell when they're on top.

Good, diagonal ball from Shkodran Mustafi to pick out Alexandre Lacazette but the striker's header is tame and Jordan Pickford collects.

Everton spring on the break, Ainsley Maitland-Niles' header is weak and Bernard is in on goal.

Surely... no, he can't finish! Bernd Leno stands up well and blocks the shot.

Unai Emery is twice as animated in the second-half in comparison to how he was in the first 45. He is directing every pass from inside his technical area. When a pass goes astray he looks crestfallen, but he clearly believes Arsenal have the momentum after the break.

Anish: Can Arsenal make a deal with the FA so that they don't have to play any away games and only play 19 home games all season? They'd still avoid relegation.

Everton will be happy to have just taken the sting out of that quick Arsenal start.

They're threatening to create opportunities of their own, too, until Bernard gives it away and the Gunners break.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has time and space, and fires a pass out of play. Really poor.

The changes Arsenal have made have had a positive effect so far. They can go for it now.

It was such an anaemic performance in the first half. They knew they couldn't be like that again.

Seamus Coleman thumps a clearance down field and it almost turns into a great ball for Bernard. Shkodran Mustafi gets a toe to it before the diminutive Brazilian can pounce.

Arsenal never really clear their lines and Dominic Calvert-Lewin tees it up for Gylfi Sigurdsson, but when it eventually comes down for the midfielder he fires over.

Arsenal looking dangerous in this second half. Kurt Zouma turns the ball behind and Henrikh Mkhitaryan's corner makes it all the way to the back post.

Aaron Ramsey has time to take it on his chest, lines up a left-footed shot... but slices wide.

Andre Gomes struts around Goodison Park with such a swagger, but he takes too long on the ball on that occasion and has to bring down a breaking Aaron Ramsey.

Nice football from Arsenal as they move it down the right and Jordan Pickford can only punch a clearance into the path of Aaron Ramsey inside the area, but the substitute scoops over.

Everton deal with an early Arsenal corner. The Gunners look like they're going to throw everything at the Toffees in this second half.

So Ramsey and Aubameyang do come on, with Mohamed Elneny and Sead Kolasinac making way.

We'll see a different Arsenal team in the second half, mostly through personnel. Unai Emery might change the system but they've got to change that personnel.

It's not working with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mesut Ozil. They need to bring Aaron Ramsey on, or Alex Iwobi.

Everton deserve the lead. They're the team that want it more, by some distance. Tactically they've got it right, they know where they're stronger than Arsenal and that's mainly the pace of Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front, which is scaring the daylights out of Arsenal.

If Everton need to use the long ball, from Jordan Pickford to the long throw from Digne, they're happy to do that too as well.

Marco Silva has got to be really pleased with this but can his team keep this up - this sort of physicality, this sort of pressing - for the entirety of the game?

This may be the only Premier League game today, but there is FA Cup semi-final action as Wolves face Watford.

Charles Meyrick: I just burned my bacon, but I can't work out which alarm is loudest; my smoke alarm, or the one ringing whenever I see Everton go at Arsenal's defence. Game of two halves though, and I've got two new rashers; hope Arsenal do too.

Kurt Booth: Arsenal are a shadow of what we've come to expect this season. Emery needs to give the players a kicking at half time. They need to actually test Pickford and stop wasting corners on the short option.
