This must be hugely frustrating for Arsenal fans, their side are misplacing passes every time they get into the opposition half - Matteo Guendouzi the latest culprit.
Lucas Digne thinks about a long-range strike but instead keeps the ball alive, Everton work it right and Seamus Coleman delivers only to watch Richarlison's attempted bicycle kick fail to connect.

They're not having a battle, Arsenal. Every time there's a tackle they're going down. I think they need to go and take part in this game, they need to start battling.
The way Everton are playing this game, if you play tippy, tappy football all afternoon then you're probably going to lose.

Another Arsenal attack breaks down with Idrissa Gueye getting a foot in, before his midfielder partner Andre Gomes wriggles free in the centre of the pitch and takes the pressure off his side by winning a free-kick.

It's not easy for Alexandre Lacazette. He's up against two players at the moment and when he finds himself up against Kurt Zouma he's really not been strong enough.
One of thing Zouma has in spades is pace so it's been a tough afternoon so far for Lacazette.

Come on Arsenal fans, whinging about a foot over the line when defending like a Sunday League reserve team, and I'm a Liverpool fan!
John, Liverpool
Too many excuses from Arsenal fans for their very poor defending. They need to learn how to defend better.

Everton go flying forward again.
Nacho Monreal fouls Richarlison and the hosts take a quick free-kick.
Richarlison has options in the middle, but can't pick out a team-mate. Corner.
Everton 1-0 Arsenal
Five minutes left of this first half. Arsenal yet to have a shot on target, and the visitors have had just one blocked shot in total.
Everton 1-0 Arsenal
Gylfi Sigurdsson winds up a strike from the edge of the Arsenal area, but the Icelandic midfielder can't get any power behind his effort and it's straight into the arms of Bernd Leno - we've seen them fly in from there.

Charlie: Ramsey, Aubameyang, Iwobi and Suarez on the bench Elneny on the pitch. Words cannot express anything right about that
Dan: I refuse to rate Emery simply because of his persistence in playing Mustafi, along with these dreadful lineups at such a key moment in the season. Elneny & Guedouzi in the centre of the park? No thank you. Would rather have a 80% fit Ramsey any day of the week.
Kyle: When you play Guendouzi and Elneny in central midfield you lack creativity and a goal threat. Surely Ramsey should have been on from the start. I'm amazed Aubameyang is only on the bench as well.
Everton 1-0 Arsenal
Neat ball from Ainsley Maitland-Niles as he whips one across goal from the right, but no Arsenal players are gambling on that and Jordan Pickford gathers comfortably.
Everton 1-0 Arsenal
Something tells me Unai Emery isn't very content with Arsenal's performance so far...

After the first five minutes, when that Arsenal midfield seemed to be working really well together, I don't think we've mentioned Mesut Ozil's name. He's not had a kick of the ball.
He and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, we've seen very little of them so far. But then they've had no service, Arsenal haven't had a lot of good possession in that final third.
Everton 1-0 Arsenal
Mesut Ozil is drifting further inside, looking to get more involved and anything positive the visitors have done so far seems to have come through their playmaker - albeit he's had little of the ball.
That's a great tackle from Idrissa Gueye on the edge of his own box though to send Everton on the counter attack once again.
No way through for Arsenal at the minute.

The Everton faithful are on their feet now. They are really up for this. They really like it when they get in the faces of the opposition here at Goodison and Arsenal look a bit unsettled by it all.
Everton 1-0 Arsenal
Everton are so much sharper and more aggressive than their visitors when out of possession.
They haven't really threatened since the goal, but look the more likely to make something happen with the ball too.

I wondered if Arsenal would play four at the back because Everton have got a clear front three.
They went with three and they've been caught a few times with that diagonal ball over the top from left to right. Arsenal haven't got a natural left-back there so there's a gap.
Everton 1-0 Arsenal
Better from Arsenal as Mesut Ozil saunters inside and switches it from right to left, only to watch Sead Kolasinac lash a cross way off target.
Everton 1-0 Arsenal
Sloppy from Arsenal going forward, Henrikh Mkhitaryan flicks an aimless pass into space and and Everton fire it over the top from Jordan Pickford.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is on the chase, but won't catch that.

Dennis Ethan: If Arsenal concede first they become atrocious instantly.
Howepundit: I don't get this Arsenal team, it's like once they leave London Colney and the Emirates, they lose the ability to play football or engage the faculties that help them play football. Very hard to recognise them when they play away.
Dan: There is categorically no chance Arsenal will progress with the likes of Mustafi & Elneny in their starting line-up. Truly abysmal players and not the standard for top 6 let alone top 4.
