    • Emi Buendia-inspired Norwich lead Hull 2-1 at half-time, on their way back to the top of the Championship at this rate...
    • Aston Villa lead at Nottingham Forest, despite going a goal down, they fought back to lead 2-1 at the break.
    • Stoke have lived a little dangerously at the back and owe Jack Butland for holding Derby goalless in a stalemate first-half at Pride Park.
    • Middlesbrough lead Preston thanks to Ashley Fletcher's goal. 1-0 there.
    • Birmingham's post-derby hangover hasn't shown much sign of abating, Millwall have scored twice without reply to lead 2-0 at St Andrew's.
    • QPR are all-square with Rotherham after a fairly even, and scrappy first-half. Deadlock.

    West Brom 1-0 Swansea

Football is all about getting the breaks.

Despite what Pep Guardiola might claim, you always need a little bit of luck.

And, after surviving a similar scare at one end when Connor Roberts hit the post, how positive an effect will Chris Brunt’s somewhat fortuitous goal now have on the Baggies as the match goes on?

He spoke to BBC WM only yesterday about the importance of winning over entertaining - about the need to ‘win ugly’, if you like. And it is up to Albion to now build on that massive early fluke. Home keeper Sam Johnstone’s two point-blank saves that followed from Wayne Routledge and Nathan Dyer maybe suggests they will.

Right, I reckon we're all there at half-time in the 19:45 GMT kick-offs, of course, West Brom's game with Swansea - which sees the Baggies in front by 1-0, didn't kick off til 20:00 GMT.

Let's have a look at how things are going at the half-way stage.

    Derby 0-0 Stoke

Benik Afobe has gone off through injury and Mame Biram Diouf is on for Stoke. His introduction coincides with Stoke's best flurry of action of the game...

It's pinball around the Derby box as they press, but the Rams do enough to clear with half-time looming.

Derby will be disappointed not to have the lead, but Stoke deserve credit to holding out.

  5. Postpublished at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2019

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Preston

Oooh! Preston keeper Declan Rudd shot out off his line quickly there to make a big save after swift interchange put Middlesbrough striker Britt Assombalonga in on goal.

It's the type of chance you'd fancy the DR Congo forward to bury, but Rudd was big and brave to deny him.

    Big stop.

GOAL: Norwich 2-1 Hullpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2019

    Marc Pugh (45 mins)

    HELLO!

All that praise I dished out to the Hull keeper for keeping his team in this one, and his opposite number has just given the visitors a route back in.

Norwich's Tim Krul takes too long on the ball and stubs a clearance straight to a Hull player.

It quickly makes its way to Marc Pugh who has plenty to do before slamming it into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

Game well and truly on and this man knows it!

    Norwich 2-0 Hull

Emiliano Buendia - yes I know I've mentioned him a bit - has been great in this half for Norwich, but take a bow David Marshall.

The Hull keeper is the only reason we still have moderate contest here. This time he saves a brilliantly hit strike from Teemu Pukki.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2019

    QPR 0-0 Rotherham

QPR defender Jake Bidwell goes into the book for hauling down Michael Smith. Rotherham free-kick.

    Yellow for the Rangers full-back.

It's an update of sorts isn't it? Even the QPR Twitter feed called it 'scrappy'.

    Birmingham 0-2 Millwall

    BluesImage source, PA

Almost a way back in to the game for Blues and boy do they need it.

Conor Mahoney curls a free-kick with his left foot but there's just not quite enough bend on it and it's wide of the post.

Birmingham are starting to put Millwall under a bit more pressure though - goal before half-time would be massive.

    Nottingham Forest 1-2 Aston Villa

Half-time approaching at the City Ground and Forest are pressing for a leveller.

A couple of their corners are hastily cleared by the Villa defence. Yohan Benalouane almost heading in only for Tyrone Mings to get his body in the way.

    Derby 0-0 Stoke

Not for the first time, Stoke caught in possession, this time James McClean was dawdling, and Derby sweep forward...

Martyn Waghorn throws in a few stepovers before checking inside, but as he pulls his left foot back to shoot it's blocked.

Then Harry Wilson wallops a ball into the box, dying to be attacked, but Bradley Johnson's desperate lunge to connect is unsuccessful.

The home fans appreciate the effort though, and the vision.

  12. Postpublished at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2019

    Norwich 2-0 Hull

The Hull defence must be praying for half-time because they're so sick of Emiliano Buendia - he, is, EVERYWHERE.

Almost a second for him and third for Norwich after lovely work from Teemu Pukki but Buendia just can't get enough power into his shot.

    Does Buendia have a twin?

    QPR 0-0 Rotherham

    Loftus RoadImage source, Rex Features

Apologies for the lack of updates from Loftus Road.

There's not been a huge amount in terms of chances in front of goal for either side, but they're both battling away for the ascendancy.

Rotherham won't be best pleased to hear that Millwall are 2-0 ahead at Birmingham as that could leave them three points adrift of safety later this evening.

    A spawny goal from Albion!

It's Chris Brunt with a low, left-foot free-kick from wide out on the right that evades everyone and goes straight in.

  15. Postpublished at 20:21 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2019

    Derby 0-0 Stoke

    Derby go very close!

Scott Malone got away down the left and sent in the type of teasing cross that strikers dream about in the same way dogs dream about a packet of bacon.

However, no one was sniffing at it, and it rolled away to safety.

Stoke need to fix that up. Derby look really threatening going forward, the trio of Tom Lawrence, Harry Wilson and Duane Holmes have pace and skill and they keep switching. Bewitching.

Ben Thompson gets his second of the night and again it's an assist from Lee Gregory!

Gregory takes his time, picks out his team-mate and the winger calmly finishes to double the lead.

  17. CLOSE!published at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2019

    Norwich 2-0 Hull

Almost a third for Norwich - twice!

First of all it's goalhound Teemu Pukki who for once in his life scuffs a shot when well placed.

Then Marco Stiepermann unleashes a wicked effort from outside the box but it's always rising and Hull keeper David Marshall can watch it go behind for a goal-kick.

Impress stuff from the Canaries though who are going back to the top as it stands.

  18. Postpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2019

    Nottingham Forest 1-2 Aston Villa

Great save from Costel Pantilimon to deny Tammy Abraham a goal and Villa a 3-1 lead.

Abraham scored four times when these two met at Villa Park in November, but still didn't finish on the winning side.

This time Pantilimon tips his neat back heel behind for a corner. Just over 32 minutes gone.

    Ashley Fletcher (31 mins)

Deadlock broken at the Riverside, as Ashley Fletcher shoots, it deflects past a stricken Declan Rudd and the home crowd rises to acclaim the lead.

Preston were just coming into it a bit, it's a goal which gives the fans a bit of a lift - goals not always easy to come by for the Teessiders.

    Birmingham 0-1 Millwall

A slight delay in the game as Millwall's Ryan Leonard needs treatment having taken a nasty blow to the head. He's back up and returns to action for his team which is great to see.
