Lively opening few minutes at Carrow Road with both sides getting balls in the box. The Norwich crowd have been boosted just before kick-off with the news that boss Daniel Farke's signed a new deal - it keeps him at the club until 2022.

But will it be a night to remember for Canaries fans? Hull will be hoping to spoil things.

First goal of the night comes at the City Ground and goes Nottingham Forest's way.

Are we in for another 5-5 in this fixture?!

Jack Colback puts Forest ahead but I'm not sure how much he meant to. A definite attempted cross from the left ends up looping over Villa keeper Jed Steer's head and in off the far post.

    QPR v Rotherham (19:45 GMT)

Rotherham start the evening a point inside the bottom three and know they will need to end their away-day drought to lift themselves clear.

Paul Warne's side are the only side in the division not to win a Championship away game this season - yes, even basement boys Ipswich have won once on the road.

Rotherham's last match on the road was a tough afternoon at Bramall Lane on Saturday as Sheffield United dispatched them 2-0.

Keeper Marek Rodak will hope for a better evening at Loftus Road against a QPR side not entirely out of the woods in 18th.

Rangers have failed to score in three of their past four league games.

    Birmingham v Millwall (19:45 GMT)

Jack Grealish is attacked from behind by a man wearing a Birmingham City jacketImage source, Reuters

We're just a few days on from a Second City derby that will be remembered for a man invading the pitch and assaulting Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish, and unsurprisingly tonight Birmingham have urged "all supporters to be responsible in their behaviour and actions to rally together to project the correct and positive image of the club."

That is just one line of a pretty lengthy statement - basically, the message is stay off the pitch and behave like reasonable people.

In football terms, it is another crucial night in Birmingham's push for the play-offs as victory this evening could move them within two points of the top six.

Millwall arrive at St Andrew's absolutely desperate for a change in fortunes.

Defeat this evening would be a fifth straight Championship loss, and while at the moment Neil Harris and his team are hovering above the dotted line by a single point and a single place, Rotherham could overtake them by close of play.

    Nott'm Forest v Aston Villa (19:45 GMT)

Tammy Abraham bundles in against Forest in Villa's 5-5 drawImage source, Getty Images

Can tonight's game ever even dream of living up to the drama and excitement of the last meeting between the teams?

Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest shared 10 goals in a FIVE-ALL draw back in December, in a game which also saw the visitors reduced to 10 men.

I'm certain both teams would happily swap those fireworks for a 1-0 bore-win.

Forest are two points off the play-offs, and if results go their way could finish the night in the top six; while Villa can move within a point - again, if things go their way elsewhere.

Villa in particular will be hoping for a quiet night, after the incident of their 1-0 derby win against Birmingham on Saturday.

    Derby v Stoke (19:45 GMT)

Derby and Stoke players come together...Image source, Getty Images

In the modern parlance of naming games after a linked road and tagging it a derby, this game between Derby County and Stoke City could be classed as 'The A50 Derby'.

I'm loathe to do that, but there is some 'feeling' between these two clubs - even Stoke fan and comedian Nick Hancock referenced it in a Football Nightmares video (ask your dad, if this means nowt).

He bunged in a clip of a well-taken acute-angle Kevin Keen volley for the Potters against the Rams - as a dream scenario.

The dream scenario for both these clubs would be a winning run that coincides with promotion. Derby are on the cusp of the play-offs - denied a spot on goal-difference, while Stoke are down in 17th, though only 10 points separates them.

However, 10 games - including tonight - means 30 points remain up for grabs. The ideal time then, to launch a late surge...

    Middlesbrough v Preston (19:45 GMT)

    Tony PulisImage source, Getty Images

One team is clinging on for dear life, the other desperate to claw their way in. Either way, you anticipate some fingernails are going to be chewed by Middlesbrough and Preston fans between now and May's season climax.

Middlesbrough have not dropped out of the top six on any occasion since mid-August but their recent run of just two wins in the past six games has threatened that position.

Goals remain their Achilles heel with a top-half low of 39 goals, although a cast-iron defence - the most miserly in the division - keeps them in a plus-13 credit on goal difference terms.

Preston North End meanwhile have taken the old 'New Year, New Me' adage to great lengths, igniting their push for the top flight in impressive fashion.

Since a New Year's Day hangover defeat by Rotherham, the Lillywhites are unbeaten in the Championship and have won six of those 10 games.

West Brom v Swansea (20:00 GMT)

    Darren MooreImage source, Rex Features

West Brom head into tonight's game against Swansea with first-team coach James Shan in temporary charge after Darren Moore was sacked following Saturday's draw with bottom club Ipswich.

Albion are fourth in the table but last won a home league match on Boxing Day and are now 11 points off the automatic promotion places.

Former Watford and Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic - who led both of those clubs to the top flight - has held talks about taking over at the Hawthorns.

Swansea manager Graham Potter played for the Baggies from 1997 to 2000, so there could be some nostalgia for him on his return.

It will be extra impressive if he gets one over his old side, as the Swans' 18-goal top scorer Oli McBurnie will be missing because of illness.

    Norwich v Hull (19:45 GMT)

Norwich striker Teemu Pukki (left) celebrates scoring alongside Max AaronsImage source, Rex Features

It really is hotting up at the top of the Championship, with the leading three sides all seemingly coming into form at the crucial time of the season.

Norwich can make it five straight wins and replace Leeds as leaders by beating Hull this evening - Sheffield United are just a point behind the Canaries in third, ready to clip their wings should Daniel Farke's side slip up during the run-in.

Hull are a bit of a bogey team for Norwich, with the East Yorkshire club unbeaten in eight league matches against them.

But only the bravest punter would bet against that run ending tonight.

Bottom of the ChampionshipImage source, BBC Sport

At the bottom the biggest winners from Tuesday night's fixtures were probably the two sides that play this evening - Millwall and Rotherham.

With Reading and Wigan both losing 3-0 to Leeds and Blackburn respectively both sides could move up the table with wins.

Millwall travel to a Birmingham City side that have won just once at home this year, knowing victory will move them into 19th place - up to four points clear of the drop zone depending on how Rotherham fare at Queens Park Rangers.

The Millers, who occupy that final relegation spot, could move into a safe position if Millwall fail to get three points, although victory by two clear goals would be enough to see them leapfrog over Wigan no matter how the Lions fare at St Andrew's.

Top of the ChampionshipImage source, BBC Sport

After Leeds beat Reading and 10-man Sheffield United turned over Brentford on Tuesday night, the pressure at the top of the Championship swings back to Norwich City.

The Canaries need a point at home to mid-table Hull to knock Leeds off the top spot with nine games to go.

Managerless West Brom's outside hopes of an automatic promotion place would seemingly be all but over if they fail to win at home to Swansea City, while Middlesbrough will cement their place in the top six if they can get a result at home to Preston.

Bristol City's place in the play-off spots will go if either Derby County get a point or better at home to Stoke or Nottingham Forest beat Aston Villa at the City Ground.
