Khan Karn: No no no no not Lovren. Klopp needs to remember how good Gomez was at centre-back and play him there. Milner is the only one to have won the league, he should start ahead of Hendo too

  5. Barcelona end 19-game unbeaten runpublished at 18:44 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    Newcastle v Liverpool (19:45 BST)

Liverpool come into this game on the back of their first defeat in any competition since January.

The Reds lost 3-0 to Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final first leg.

That was their first loss in 20 games since an FA Cup defeat by Wolves on 7 January.

Jurgen Klopp's side actually played well - the German said it was their best Champions League away performance in two years.

Unfortunately for Liverpool, Barcelona have the best footballer in the history of the world, with Lionel Messi scoring twice.

The second leg is at Anfield on Tuesday.

Today Liverpool come up against Newcastle, managed by Rafael Benitez.

The Spaniard managed Liverpool between 2004 and 2010, winning the Champions League and FA Cup.

In 2008-09 they finished second on 86 points, four behind Manchester United.

And on Monday, Manchester City go to Brendan Rodgers' Leicester.

The Northern Irishman was Reds boss from 2012 to 2015.

They fell just short of the title in 2013-14, scoring 101 league goals but ending up two points behind City.

And two former Liverpool managers with failed title bids of their own could have a huge role in deciding whether the Reds can win the league.
