Andy Vines: Not a goalkeeping error, but who can forget Richard Keogh's beautiful pass to Bobby Zamora?

Loser92: I knew Charlton would win. Sunderland have been in reverse gear since the beginning of March

Derby captain Richard Keogh and all QPR fans are certainly unlikely to have forgotten it...

Sunderland goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin will not be thanking defender Alim Ozturk for giving him a bouncing backpass like that now he's in the same goal where Dillon Phillips made that error in the first half.

He clears easily enough, as Ozturk apologises.

David Robinson: Worst goalkeeping error in the play-offs has to be Phil Barnes for Blackpool v Orient in 2001. After 27 seconds, he slipped whilst controlling a back pass, letting Orient's forward in for simple tap-in. Most of us were still admiring the Millennium Stadium!

Paul Carney: Pleased for Charlton. They were shell-shocked for 30 minutes but finally cleared their heads. Sunderland have no creativity without McGeady.

Andy Brook: The first and only rule of passing the ball back to the keeper - pass it wide of the goal

That's your lot from an exciting first half at Wembley that will live long in the memory for the mistake above.

There seemed to be little danger when Charlton defender Naby Sarr passed the ball back to goalkeeper Dillon Phillips in the fifth minute but the ball went past Phillips' foot and, despite setting off after it, he could not stop what could be one of the most famous Wembley own goals.

That rocked the Addicks but they grew back into and levelled when Ben Purrington tapped home after fine play.

It's all set up for a brilliant second half. Another 4-4? Don't rule it out.

That is not a bad time for Ben Purrington to pop-up with his first goal for Charlton.

Addicks goalkeeper Dillon Phillips will no doubt be thanking the on-loan left-back at half-time as it means his early error won’t prove to be the defining moment of the game.

The Charlton fans have been singing non-stop since the equaliser, backed by the beat of a drum in their end.

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Thinking of ways to describe both goals, it's all the qs, one quirky and one quality. That Charlton goal had quality throughout it; a good pull-back by Lyle Taylor and its no more than they deserve.

After they scored, Krystian Bielik has given his goalkeeper a cuddle and said to him 'we're back in this'.

  14. Postpublished at 40 mins

Sunderland win another corner as Bryan Oviedo gets some revenge on Lyle Taylor with some quick feet.

Grant Leadbitter sends a delivery to the back post and Addicks goalkeeper Dillon Phillips claws it away.

The corner comes to nothing as Charlie Wyke is pulled up for a foul on Charlton striker Lyle Taylor.

Taylor is having a brilliant game so far it has to be said.

Lovely, lovely goal from the Addicks!

Some neat interplay on the edge of the Sunderland area ends with Lyle Taylor playing a brilliant low ball across the face of goal that Ben Purrington taps in.

    A deserved leveller.

Lyle Taylor wins another corner for the Addicks. The striker is giving Black Cats left-back Bryan Oviedo a tough time right now.

Josh Cullen sends the set piece in over everyone and out for a throw in.

Boss Lee Bowyer will not have been happy about that.

Thirty minutes in and, that aberration from Charlton defender Naby Sarr and Dillon Phillips aside, it's been pretty even.

The Addicks have come back into in the last few minutes but they're yet to trouble Black Cats goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin.
