  1. Poor finishing by Jesuspublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 10 August 2019

HT: West Ham 0-1 Man City

    Paul Parker
Ex-Fulham and Manchester United defender on BBC Radio London

All Gabriel Jesus had to do was put it in the air. Lukasz Fabianski was already on the floor. That should have been 2-0, it was poor finishing, and Jesus knew it - you could tell by the way he flung his arms down in disgust.

  2. 'Rodri's game has been brilliant'published at 13:17 British Summer Time 10 August 2019

HT: West Ham 0-1 Man City

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The physicality in Rodri's game has been brilliant, his tackles have been spot on. His touch and passes have been fantastic. You don’t get into the Man City squad unless your passes and your pass awareness are spot on but these passes are not on for most players and then he makes the pass almost inch perfect.

Issa Diop has an absolutely howler and gets away with it. What he's trying to do here, I have no idea...

The centre-back hoofs a rash clearance, which goes straight to Gabriel Jesus on the edge of the area.

Luckily for Diop, Jesus' shot is straight into Lukasz Fabianski's arms.

Declan Rice does well to stand his ground on the edge of the box and nicks the ball off Raheem Sterling, who seemed to get caught in two minds.

Felipe Anderson tries to counter through the middle but he's tugged back by David Silva.

  7. City's best spell so farpublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 10 August 2019

    West Ham 0-1 Man City

    Paul Parker
Ex-Fulham and Manchester United defender on BBC Radio London

City have just had their best passage of play in the game so far, which is strange to say so late in the half. They pulled West Ham all over the place. That's the first time we've seen the real Manchester City this half.

Rodri comes in strongly on Jack Wilshere and is penalised. There's a few boos around the London Stadium but there's no way Michael Dean is giving a yellow for that.

David Silva pokes it through to Raheem Sterling but the England winger is flagged offside.

It's a good thing too, because he was in acres of space on the left.

  10. 'West Ham haven't taken advantage'published at 13:10 British Summer Time 10 August 2019

    West Ham 0-1 Man City

    Paul Parker
Ex-Fulham and Manchester United defender on BBC Radio London

Manuel Pellegrini needs his team to do a bit more in the final third. Not many teams get possession like West Ham have had and and for City to be so sloppy with the ball. West Ham have had all of that and haven't taken advantage, maybe because they're scared of getting caught on the counter. But if they keep putting pressure on City in that final third, they can make something happen.

It's getting all too easy for City now.

Kevin de Bruyne makes a run down the line and is fed through. He waits before cutting it back but Fabian Balbuena is there to intercept - just.

Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva link-up nicely on the left and weave their way into the box.

The Belgian manages to get a shot away. He hits it with pace but it's straight at Lukasz Fabianski.

  13. Perfect tacklepublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 10 August 2019

    West Ham 0-1 Man City

    Paul Parker
Ex-Fulham and Manchester United defender on BBC Radio London

I don't know why they keep showing the penalty appeal because it was a tackle to perfection. Manuel Lanzini was trying to get the penalty.

Michail Antonio flicks a throw-in on and it falls for Sebastien Haller. He chests it down then tries an overhead volley.

It lacks power and it's a fairly comfortable save for Ederson.

That's a shot on target for West Ham though!

  15. Worry for West Hampublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 10 August 2019

    West Ham 0-1 Man City

    Paul Parker
Ex-Fulham and Manchester United defender on BBC Radio London

There's that worry for West Ham that City can only get better. They're already 1-0 up without playing very well at all.

  16. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 33 mins

    West Ham 0-1 Man City

Manuel Lanzini goes down following a strong challenge from Oleksandr Zinchenko in the box but again, no penalty given.

Two appeals, two correct decisions. That was just a good tackle.

The away end has come alive now after that goal. The travelling fans had been a little quiet after a pretty poor start by the reigning champions but they are bouncing now.

Instead it is now the rest of the ground that is a little muted. It had been an encouraging start by West Ham but for all their neat build up play they are yet to have a shot on or off target.

    West Ham 0-1 Man City

West Ham lose possession in midfield and Kevin de Bruyne tries to break but Issa Diop is there to make a strong tackle.

Declan Rice then comes in to win a 50-50 challenge with Oleksandr Zinchenko and almost takes out his manager.

Riyad Mahrez gets behind Aaron Cresswell again but his low shot is comfortably saved at the near post.

  20. 'City have been awful'published at 12:58 British Summer Time 10 August 2019

    West Ham 0-1 Man City

    Paul Parker
Ex-Fulham and Manchester United defender on BBC Radio London

It's an opportunity missed for West Ham. They've allowed City to get in front when, for them, they've been awful. They haven't been good at all so far.

Kyle Walker is the one who forced the goal. He did an overlap which I cannot believe Aaron Cresswell didn't spot sooner and drop off.
