John McGinn hattrick. You heard it here first. Let the fantasy football points McGinn rolling in!
Gareth, Glasgow (supporting the Scottish players)
That actually dropped seconds before McGinn's opener. Well there's one of them Gareth.
John McGinn (9 mins)
Wow!
Aston Villa stun Tottenham.
It's a long ball forward and John McGinn reacts to collect between two Spurs defenders, before faking to shoot as Danny Rose dives in and then firing low beyond Hugo Lloris.
Superb finish.
What a start for the newly promoted visitors!
Tottenham 0-0 Aston Villa
Villa are having to camp out on the edge of their own box early on here. Plenty of claret and blue shirts behind the ball as Lucas Moura is knocked over. Free-kick on the right for Spurs.
Tottenham 0-0 Aston Villa
Chance for Lucas Moura!
Danny Rose whips a flighted ball into the area and the Brazilian forward is left unmarked, he rises to head it goalwards but can't find the power to trouble new Villa keeper Tom Heaton.
Tottenham 0-0 Aston Villa
Lovely cross-field pass from Toby Alderweireld into the path of Danny Rose down the left, but the England full-back can't help it back towards a team-mate.
Interesting to note there's no Jan Vertonghen in the Spurs squad today - Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez get the nod at centre half.

Joshua Edwards: People writing off Spurs getting anywhere near the title need to take a look at the bench today. Strong starting lineup but still have Eriksen, Dier, Wanyama and Aurier in the wings.
Tottenham 0-0 Aston Villa
Oof! Lively start for the hosts as Lucas Moura pinches the ball in midfield, drives towards the area and sizzles a right-footed effort over the crossbar.
Warning for Villa.

And away we go...
Jack Grealish gets things under way.

Ex-QPR striker on BBC Radio London
Aston Villa will come and try and play. It's not going to be easy. Tottenham are strong and athletic but in the likes of Grealish and the new front three they have some exciting attacking players, Tottenham are going to have to watch out.

JohnnyBowe: Dropping Eriksen is a smart move, Lucas looks sharper and more dangerous. Can only see a Spurs victory today. 2-0.

Club record £53.8m signing Tanguy Ndombele makes his Premier League debut for Tottenham, who are without both Dele Alli and Son Heung-min.
Argentina midfielder Giovani lo Celso, signed on loan from Real Betis, and England Under-21 winger Ryan Sessegnon, a £25m buy from Fulham, do not feature.
Aston Villa start with five summer recruits - goalkeeper Tom Heaton, Brazilian striker Wesley, Egypt winger Trezeguet, centre-back Bjorn Engels and Tyrone Mings, who has turned a loan spell into a permanent move from Bournemouth.
Brazil Under-23 captain Douglas Luiz is on the bench while Villa are captained by Jack Grealish, a Tottenham transfer target a year ago.

Right, time to head to north London for the late kick-off - it's the Champions League finalists against the Premier League new boys.

Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson speaking to Match of the Day: "Our second-half performance was strong, two evenly matched teams. I'm quite pleased we were able to compete as well as we did and we certainly had chances to score.
"We got very close to three points and it was a gritty and gutsy performance. It was a 0-0 because both teams knew how to defend."
On Wilfried Zaha: "He did quite well, he did what we hoped he would do - create opportunities, put Max Meyer in one v one, a couple of times he had to be bundled off the ball at the last minute. Of course, when you've been away for three weeks, he's such a natural phenomenon as an athlete but to get him back to full capacity will take him a week or two."
FT: Burnley 3-0 Southampton
Burnley
Burnley boss Sean Dyche speaking to Match of the Day: “It was a tough game for both teams, the conditions were awful. First half we stuck at it, they had a good shape about them.
“Second half we asked the players to ask more questions of them and by doing so their back four got misshaped and we showed a bit of quality to get the result.
“Ashley Barnes didn't score in pre-season but his first goal was a fantastic touch and finish, it was great skill. The second finish was sublime, and a brilliant ball by Erik Pieters, and Johann’s finish was good as well.
“The players have come back with a real edge this season. The brain’s clear and they've come in with a thirst and desire for the Premier League. The mentality and energy, will and desire was all there.
“We know how tough the Premier League is so you take these results but by no means do you think it guarantees you the next one."

Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson: "I think if you look at the goal chances it's fair but as the game wore on we got better and if anyone was going to win the game it was us, especially after the sending off.
"It was two well matched, organised teams that aren't easy to break down. So I guess a 0-0 was on the cards. We've had a strange pre-season - six or seven players who were first team last year not training.
"Now we have brought some players in, I think we've got Wilf (Zaha) back fit, we'll be a much stronger unit."
On Zaha's substitute performance: "He did well, set us up for a chance that could have won us the game. He's a little bit rusty, when a player comes back from three weeks away he's going to end a bit of time to find his true form. He's phenomenal when it comes to fitness, but to find the form it will take a week or two. He almost helped us take three points."

We're heading over to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium very shortly as they take on newly-promoted Aston Villa in their season opener.
Can the European runners-up get off to a winning start or will there be an upset?
FT: Bournemouth 1-1 Sheffield Utd
Bournemouth
More from Eddie Howe speaking to Sky Sports: "We were not at our best. It was a really tough game. We expected that. We didn't impose our strengths enough.
"It was a tough day to play football with the wind and the slow pitch. We had a lot of possession without really penetrating.
"We couldn't really get control of the ball in the later stages and that ultimately hurt us. We started brightly in the second half but their goal was a touch similar to ours. A win wasn't to be.
"Sheffield United are a good team. You don't get promoted from the Championship unless you are an excellent side. We didn't underestimate them in any way. We wanted to get in front and were disappointed we conceded."
FT: Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton
Everton
Everton boss Marco Silva: "Tough game, competitive as you would expect. We lost Andre (Gomes), we were controlling the game, creating moments - it's clear for me in some moments when you bring in new players they need time to adapt. Today was a good example, we lost some balls in zones we cannot.
"Our first half deserved something more. A clean sheet, the attitude was there. We lost some easy balls and if they didn't happen we would have controlled the game until the end."
