It's a great delivery from Chris Burke. All the Rangers players went for it and missed it, it's fallen to Stephen O'Donnell at the back post and it's a really, really good finish because he's close to Wes Foderginham, it's a close angle and he's just lifted it into the far corner. Kilmarnock have been in this second half, and I think they deserved that.

  2. CLOSE!published at 8 mins

James Wilson slams a rising shot just over the top from a cleverly worked Aberdeen corner kick.

I wonder if Alex Dyer took the half time team talk for Kilmarnock with this second half performance.

The Kilmarnock defender was lingering at the back post when a cross was swung in and with outstanding timing and technique he has fired the ball in to the roof of the Rangers net. We're all square at Rugby Park!

Interestingly, Alessio is willing Kilmarnock to get up and press higher up the pitch. But Power has the hand out as if he's saying no we're alright, we're not going to burst too early. And he's almost controlling it on the pitch. Alessio is wanting higher tempo but the players are sitting in, containing it just now.

We're approaching the final 10 minutes of the game and it seems as though both sides are pushing up the pitch looking to grab a goal.

    Aberdeen 0-0 Hearts

The visitors win an early free kick as Uche Ikpeazu goes down under pressure from Shay Logan near the corner flag. However, the set-piece comes to nothing as John Souttar is penalised for some wrestling in the box.

  8. Rangers substitutionpublished at 78 min

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Rangers

Former Kilmarnock favourite Jordan Jones has come on for Rangers to the chorus of boos from the home support. He replaces Sheyi Ojo, who has had a quiet afternoon for the visitors.

An attacking twist from Alessio. I like Kiltie, I think he's got a lot to offer but has been unlucky with injury and gone out on loan. He's now back and this is an opportunity for him just to drift in off of Brophy. He's going to allow Brophy a little bit more respite as well, to stay up more central and a bit higher. And Kiltie will just drop into those wee pockets.

Kilmarnock still possess a threat and a danger to Rangers. Looking at Brophy he's continuing to make little darting runs in behind. But so far, there's not an awful lot happening for them. There have been waves of attack from Rangers, but they're not really cutting Kilmarnock open. So the longer it goes on I think Alessio has to take a gamble, a twist and see if he can get a reward.

  12. Kilmarnock substitutionpublished at 70 min

Rangers are applying a bit of pressure now, I wasn't sure how long Steven Gerrard would give it before Stewart and Jones come into contention. I'm not sure Ojo has worked today, he's gone out to the left and he's not got much change out of either full-back.

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Rangers

Brophy's brilliant opportunity to level the scoring seems to have truly galvanised Rangers in to action. Aribo came close just a few minutes later and since then the visitors have been battering the Kilmarnock box with corners and crosses.

  16. CLOSE!published at 58 min

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Rangers

Joe Aribo darts in to the middle of the pitch with the ball but is dispossessed just in front of the Kilmarnock box. Fortunately for the Rangers midfield, the loose ball bounces back in front of him and he gets a shot away which forces a save from Branescu.

  18. CLOSE!published at 14:41 British Summer Time 4 August 2019

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Rangers

Chris Burke swings a cross in to the box and finds Eamonn Brophy at the front post with all the time and space in the world to tap the ball in to the back of the net from about three yards out. However, the Scotland international completely mishits the shot and it goes wide. A huge chance for the home side ruined.

Kilmarnock probably showing a little more pragmatism in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. Findlay find space between the Rangers lines, but no clear goalscoring chances from the home side just yet.
