Having been very quiet in the transfer market, Killie make just one change from their shock Europa League loss at home to Connah's Quay Nomads.

Goalkeeper Laurentiu Branescu, on loan from Juventus, takes over from Jamie MacDonald.

Rangers are without regular keeper Allan McGregor through suspension, so Wes Foderingham starts for the visitors.

Alfredo Morelos and Steven Davis come in after last week's 0-0 draw away to Progres Niederkorn, with Jermain Defoe and Glen Kamara dropping to the bench.

Referee Don Robertson explains the changes to the hand ball rule

It seems as though IFAB change the rules of the game every year and this summer is no different.

While most of the changes made by the international body are minor and rather inconsequential there are some fundamental amendments to what does and doesn't constitute a hand ball.

We sat down with referee Don Robertson to ask him to explain the new changes.

"It is difficult in the summer market because every club wants the same players."

That was new Kilmarnock manager Angelo Alessio's excuse when asked why the club had only signed two players to replace the eight that had left the club this summer.

"Eight players less is too much. At the moment, we need a striker, or two strikers, a couple of wingers, maybe another centre-back."

The club will surely look to bring in a number of new players between now and the end of the month, but it seems as though today's team to face Kilmarnock will feature a number of inexperienced or unknown faces.

  5. Rangers have 'good chance' of title glorypublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 4 August 2019

    Kilmarnock v Rangers (13:30)

Former Rangers player and manager Stuart McCall on BBC Radio Scotland: "Rangers have got a really good chance of the title. Celtic are strong, they’ve got a lot of top quality players, but certainly last season there were signs Rangers have got their game together and they’ve certainly got the right man in charge.

"There will be twists and turns, but I think this season will be a lot closer. I think for Rangers supporters, success would now have to be winning the title."

As expected Celtic, Ross County and Hibs are looking pretty after their wins on the opening day, while St Johnstone, Hamilton and St Mirren already look a little concerning after just one match.

How do you think the table will look after today's games?
