    Newcastle United

Newcastle's latest signing Emil Krafth spoke to NUFC TV, external following his move from French club Amiens earlier today.

“In my career, I’ve played in Italy and France, and I’ve always wanted to try the Premier League also. I think the league and the style fits how I play as a player," said Krafth.

“In those countries I’ve been in, I’ve learned a lot there also. In Italy there was a lot of tactics as a defender, so I learned a lot there, and I learned a lot in France where the football is a little bit more like the Premier League.

“I don’t like to talk about myself like this, but I’m solid, very physical and I’m good with the ball. I’m good one against one in defence.

“That’s why I wanted to try the Premier League – I think it will fit me as a player. It’s a hard league to play in physically, and I like to play physically, so hopefully it’s going to fit me well.”

  12. 'Quiet day for the Saints'published at 12:26 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    The view from the fans

    Southampton

Lucy Highnett, Total Saints Podcast: “It looks like a quiet day for Saints today, despite hopes of shrinking a bloated squad. Charlie Austin may finally end his spell here, after finding himself out in the cold this summer. But the best news of the day, more or less regardless of what happens with player transfers, is Nathan Redmond's new contract. Saints fans have got used to selling their best talent and there were genuine fears he could leave for a reduced fee next summer. Now we can all enjoy more sparkling performances from the fans' and players' player of the season!”

I don't expect loads to happen at Leicester City today.

The Dennis Praet deal is close to being completed and I'd expect some of the 'fringe' players to have movement today.

I understand Callum Elder could be heading to Hull City on a permanent deal.
