As mentioned by Stoney, Manchester City brought in Rodri, Joao Cancelo and then back-ups including Pedro Porro and Angelino.

How would you rate their transfer window?

    Hit the thumbs.

Btw, take a look at how impressed people are with Arsenal's business (20:20 entry).

  2. City's position of strengthpublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    BBC Sport

When you consider that Manchester City have gone and broken their transfer record to sign Rodri and now Joao Cancelo from Juventus for a combined £120m and neither are guaranteed to start, that shows the position of strength that Manchester City are in.

Pep Guardiola has built that squad to a point where they can bring players in of high quality that can have time to bed in and be successful over a number of years.

Arsenal desperately needed a centre-back and have brought experienced David Luiz in from rivals Chelsea, as well as Kieran Tierney, Nicolas Pepe and Dani Ceballos.

How would you rate their transfer window now?

Thumbs up for good, down for bad.

Nice one Emma, great stint there.

She was just putting her coat on to go home when she yelped, "LUIZ IS DONE!" and had to stay an extra couple of minutes. What a pro.

So the only big one we are waiting on is Alex Iwobi, hopefully that does not take too long.

  6. Postpublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

Right, I'm out of here! Off to have my dinner - finally!

Shamoon Hafez is going to stay with you and hopefully bring you the news of Alex Iwobi's transfer to Everton.

    It's been a pleasure!

  11. 'They needed someone in central midfield'published at 19:57 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

If I'm being brutally honest I've known for months that Romelu Lukaku was leaving Manchester United but I never thought they would bring another forward in.

I always felt that inside the club they think that they have the forwards to play the way that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to play. They've got Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashord, Alexis Sanchez and a young lad - Mason Greenwood - bearing in mind they are only going to play with one centre forward.

I thought they needed someone in central midfield, the anchor to allow Paul Pogba to move forward.

They have let Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera go. They have Juan Mata, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic. It isn't the greatest midfield.

New Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso: "It was an easy decision. It’s a club that plays in the Champions League every year, has an incredible stadium, a top-level training centre and a coaching team of Argentines that showed interest in me, and that was very important."

  17. Why did Lukaku leave?published at 19:44 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

A better goalscoring season than Eric Cantona ever managed but no trophies. Consistency only Sergio Aguero could match but unloved by fans.

Romelu Lukaku's move from Everton to Manchester United was much hyped but just two years later he has left for Inter Milan for £74m, a loss of £1m.

So why has he gone? And was his time at United a failure?
