Ben: And there you have it folks. Another transfer window goes by without buying the players we need. We can't just chuck academy/U23 players into the Man Utd first team and pretend everything is ok.

Jack: I know most the attention will be on Premier League, but West Brom smashed it out the park with our signings. Best deadline day we've had.

  8. 'He can be a success with us'published at 17:59 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town Head Coach Jan Siewert on Trevoh Chalobah: “I am very happy to welcome Trevoh to Huddersfield Town as I believe he is one of the top players in his age group.

“He is a player that fits straight into my system having the natural ability to play as a six. He’s a physical player, has a defensive mindset and takes great responsibility in supporting the defenders behind him, which frees up his fellow midfielders.

“He made a further step and developed during his loan spell at Ipswich Town last year and playing in this role, in my system, I believe he can make further steps and be a success with us.”

Chalobah will wear the number eight shirt for Huddersfield.

  13. 'United would have liked a little more activity'published at 17:51 British Summer Time 8 August 2019

    Ian Dennis
Radio 5 live senior football reporter

I think Manchester United would have liked a little more activity but it will take time for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to change things around.

Paulo Dybala of course did not happen and United want players that are hungry and have that desire to play for them. Mason Greenwood is a youngster who made a real impact in pre-season.

He is a natural finisher that's why they went for Daniel James earlier in the window and of course they spent £80m on Harry Maguire.

It's all about trying to catch the top two. Liverpool and Manchester City set such a high bar last term and the chasing pack have to try and make up 25 points.
