Simon: I do wonder how many Manchester United fans craving Bruno Fernandes have actually seen him play more than a handful of times!

Alex: Resentment shown from Steve regarding Tierney and Sessegnon signing for Arsenal and Spurs respectively. I don't think the fees would have been more had they signed for Man Utd, they just wouldn't have wanted to sign for the Old Trafford club. The times have changed and momentum has shifted.

In the days before TV coverage, Harry Redknapp leaning out of a car and the internet, transfer business was such a simplistic affair.....

Although taking a player nicknamed 'Spider' fishing might not have worked out well.

Sean G: Everton spending huge amounts of money to break into top six. But they continue to make signings that no top six club would make.

Peter: While I'm happy with a lot of the signings Aston Villa have made, I'm disappointed that we didn't get another striker as we are pretty weak in this area. Two days ago Dean Smith said they were still looking to get deals done so today feels a little anti-climactic.

"I think everyone knows how much the club means to me and once the opportunity arose I was always going to come back.

Southampton are trying to beat the 7pm deadline to bring 20 year-old centre-back Kevin Danso to the club from Bundesliga outfit Augsburg.

If they manage it, he’ll be their third summer signing (fourth if you include Danny Ings, which was agreed last summer) – and he has a great back story, having moved to Germany after playing as a kid for both Reading and MK Dons.

Steve: Arsenal and Tottenham have signed terrific left backs in Kieran Tierney and Ryan Sessegnon respectively for £25m each. If that had been Manchester United buying the fee would have been double!

JP: No signings from Liverpool. Last year, lack of squad depth led to losing a 10 point Premier League lead, dropping out of all league cups, and barely qualifying from CL group. Mo Salah lacks creativity in the box. Injuries to Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino and Klopp will be back to blaming weather.

Michael: Everton signing Alex Iwobi for 40million is the best bit of business arsenal have done in years.
