  2. 'It was like a game of basketball'published at 17:58

FT: Partick Thistle 3-2 Ross County

Ross County co-manager Steven Ferguson told BBC Scotland: "We didn't think we did well enough from the start, credit to Partick they were really up for the cup tie and rightly so.

"When you go one goal up you think at the very worst you can do enough to see the game out and that's how we thought it was going to go.

"The chances both sides had, it was like a game of basketball at times. We're really disappointed as it was a massive opportunity missed, but all we can do now is brush ourselves down and congratulate Partick and wish them all the best for the next round."

That's eagle-eyed of you bold Thomas. It certainly felt like the 199th minute here at Pacific Quay Towers! Alas, it was a slip of the finger that stretched the League Cup tie to an eye-watering length...

  4. 'I'm extremely proud of them' - Pars bosspublished at 17:40

    FT: Celtic 2-1 Dunfermline

Dunfermline manager Stevie Crawford: "I said before coming into this game, playing Celtic on the back of them losing in the Champions League to Cluj, to give their lot.

"They've done it to a man; even the boys who weren't stripped today. I'm extremely proud of them and disappointed for them.

"As you can hear in the background [at Celtic Park] the Dunfermline fans came out here in their numbers as well. I think we've shown that it could be an exciting season for us."

Heartbreak for the Pars...yes there had been wave after wave of attack from Celtic, but Dunfermline had held firm until that James Forrest strike. Seven minutes away from a penalty shootout, but you feel Celtic will go on to win this tie now. Dunfermline heads will have gone down.

    Celtic 1-1 Dunfermline

    Jane Lewis

Celtic creating chances, but perhaps with little conviction as they look for the winner in this League Cup tie. This is probably the last thing Neil Lennon wants for his team with their Europa League tie looming on Thursday. Dunfermline holding firm...are penalties looming?
