Celtic have the late breakthrough... no! Nir Bitton sees his effort come back off the woodwork. It remains 1-1 - are we destined for extra time?

Quote MessageIt's been very scrappy in the second half, but Kilmarnock have still had the better opportunities. It's going right down to the wire here.
Forfar 1-2 Livingston
Can Forfar force an equaliser with less than ten minutes to go? Livingston will want to keep it tight at the back and avoid any more mistakes like the one Dale Hilson took advantage of to take the deficit to just one goal. The League One side will be doing everything they can to get this one to extra time.

Thistle get their equaliser through a typically potent Kenny Miller, who sidefoots into the top left corner from 10 yards after excellent work by Alex Jones. Game on!

This second half has not been plain-sailing for Hibs and Morton should probably be level. Nicky Cadden’s corner found Kyle Jacobs unmarked but the fullback could only head wide. Morton may not get a better chance than that to take this to extra-time. At the other end, substitute Fraser Murray could have finished it but Danny Rogers saves his shot from a tight angle then keeps out Josh Vela from close range.
Kenny Miller
Partick Thistle are level, and it's that man Kenny Miller who lashes the ball high into the roof of the net from close range.

Thistle goalkeeper Scott Fox shows his worth by tipping Michael Gardyne’s goal-bound, curling effort over the crossbar!
Tom Beadling
Hang on a minute. The Pars pounce on Celtic's defensive weakness following Kristoffer Ajer's withdrawal. Tom Beadling is the coolest cucumber inside Celtic Park as he fires the visitors level.
Celtic 1-0 Dunfermline
Neil Lennon is forced to shuffle his Celtic pack as Kristoffer Ajer is withdrawn through injury, replaced by Olivier Ntcham.
Let's take a moment to appreciate the efforts of the Stranraer social media team (person). It may look more ISS Pro 98 on the N64 than Fifa 20, but we're having these social graphics.

Ryan Christie fizzes an effort narrowly wide of Ryan Scully's goal as Celtic seek to double their lead against the Pars.
Partick Thistle 0-1 Ross County
He scores and he's off. Goal scorer Blair Spittal broke the deadlock in their League Cup last 16 tie, but one minute later makes way for Josh Mullin because of injury.

Their team might have broken the deadlock, and with a sublime goal to boot, but it’s the Dunfermline fans who’re making all the noise here. Constant chanting and clapping. Maybe the Celtic fans were always confident their team would deliver a goal whether they were being vocal or not?!

What a strike by former Thistle midfielder Blair Spittal, who hits a half-volley past Scott Fox after Steven Saunders’ header only partly cleared the danger.
Spittal celebrated by ‘shooshing’ the home fans which didn’t go down too well!
Dale Hilson
Forfar are back in this League Cup tie! Dale Hilson breaks through Livingston ranks before arrowing an effort beyond Sarkic.
Blair Spittal
County take the lead through former Partick Thistle midfielder Blair Spittal, who fires home on the half volley.

Hibs back in front but this goal owes a lot to an ill-advised foray outside his box by Morton’s debutant keeper Danny Rogers. He thinks he can cut out Glenn Middleton’s ball down the channel before Flo Kamberi can get there, but he’s wrong. The Swiss striker easily sidesteps the keeper and coolly slots into the empty net.
