Just reward for a good start to the game by the home side. Debutant Glenn Middleton plays a nicely-weighted pass into the path of Scott Allan and after taking one touch the midfielder guides a left-foot shot into the bottom left-hand corner of Danny Rogers’ net.

  2. Finally!published at 15:23

    Partick Thistle 0-0 Ross County

    Kenny Crawford
    BBC Sport Scotland at Firhill

Surprisingly, it took until the 18th minute for Ross County to have any real presence in the opposition penalty box, but it was a great chance when it eventually arrived.

Sean Kelly turned Joe Chalmers’ comer back towards Ross Draper, whose goal-bound header was cleared off the line!

During a break in play, Celtic manager Neil Lennon takes the chance to have some words with Callum McGregor and Mikey Johnston on the touchline. If he's telling the latter to get into the box more...it has worked as Johnston has been bursting in to the box.

    Hibernian 0-0 Morton

    Alasdair Lamont
BBC Sport Scotland at Easter Road

Whatever malaise was affecting Hibs at Ibrox last weekend seems to have been shaken off. They’ve started well against Morton, putting David Hopkin’s side under the cosh and Flo Kamberi should have given them an early advantage but somehow glanced a point-blank header past the post. I hope there are no Basel scouts watching. Poor crowd inside Easter Road by the way.

  7. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16 mins

    Partick Thistle 0-0 Ross County

Joe Cardle swings in a Partick Thistle corner and finds the head of County's Joe Chalmers. The 6ft 2in player gives the travelling support a wee scare with a header that looks destined for their own net, but crashes off the bar.

Celtic enjoying the lionshare of possession and are creating changes. But the League Cup holders might just have to patient against Dunfermline. The travelling support seem determined to enjoy their day despite their team mot seeing much of the ball. Plenty of singing and chanting from their corner of the ground.

County’s Joe Chalmers just whacks a header off his own crossbar! He was trying to defend Joe Cardle’s corner but nearly got things badly wrong!

Another County player who hit the woodwork recently - Brian Graham with a penalty against Hearts last week - is out with a tight hamstring.

  11. CLOSE!published at 10 mins

    Celtic 0-0 Dunfermline

What a chance for the Pars to break the deadlock. With Celtic looking far from clever in defence, Kevin Nisbet sends a shot narrowly wide.

"He should've hit the target," booms BBC Sportsound pundit Pat Bonner.

  12. Jags looking sharppublished at 15:10

    Partick Thistle 0-0 Ross County

    Kenny Crawford
    BBC Sport Scotland at Firhill

Partick Thistle and Ross County are matching each other up with a 4-4-2 formation here and in the early stages the Jags are looking very bright, with Kenny Miller’s intelligence with short passes and link up clearly an asset.

Ross Draper is such a big physical unit in the visitors’ midfield and he’s looking to try and dominate the centre of the park, but Thistle are doing well to knock it around him at the moment.

  19. County eyeing silverware after good startpublished at 14:58

Partick Thistle v Ross County (15:00)

Ross County co-manager Steven Ferguson is reluctant to take the plaudits for the Staggies strong start to the season after five wins and a draw.

"It's been a great start, and all the credit has to go to the players for how they've conducted themselves so far this season," he tells BBC Scotland.

"Over the last 14-16 months we've had a group of players continually delivering for us, which we're very grateful for, but understand there's going to be many bumps in the road and we want to make sure this isn't a bump in the road today."

  20. Half full or half empty?published at 14:57

Partick Thistle v Ross County (15:00)

    Kenny Crawford
    BBC Sport Scotland at Firhill

From a quick question posed on Twitter to Partick Thistle and Ross County fans, I soon realised the confidence levels going into this match were at polar opposites.

The Staggies have five wins from their six games this season, and are unbeaten. The Jags have taken one point from six in the Championship and have been dogged by off-field stories about club finances and hierarchy.

On paper this looks like a County win, but maybe Thistle can just throw everything at this match given it’s a one-off cup tie, and see what happens.
