    Harry Kane has been outstanding, great to see Dele Alli's back to his best with his performance, Son was electric for the first 30 minutes and at the back everybody stayed cool and calm and focussed.

    The Tottenham players are hurting, and I think emotion plays a massive part in performance. They know they've underachieved, they know that here the crowd expect a lot, but if you can't get up for a Champions League game then I don't know what you're playing for. These players played with pride tonight and everything about their performance was quality, from back to front.

    I think we're watching the future centre-back pairing for Tottenham in Sanchez and Foyth. I was surprised they didn't start tonight. I thought it was an ideal opportunity to give Foyth his first start (of the season), even though he's been injured. He's a composed, cultured centre-back. He has been playing at right-back but this is his best position. I think he'll go on to be a top player for Tottenham.

    With City continuing to exercise their endless spending power season after season, and a coach the quality of Guardiola, they really should win the CL sooner rather than later. In which case, nights like this should be - as it has been in the end - routine.
