Chelsea are surely going to score more here. Abraham has so much time to hold the ball up and lay off for Azpilicueta, but his effort is blocked.

'Ello 'ello 'ello... I spy with my little eye something beginning with ALL ENGLISH FINAL!!!

    Milo, Salisbury

Andy White, Ryan and anonymous couldn't be more right. It's great to see a manager finally invest in him as the number 1 option on a title-quality team. He reminds me of a prime David Bentley.

Chelsea winning corner after corner at the moment. They almost get Willian in with a short one but the ball is nicked off his toes in the box.

That should have been a second yellow card (for Celik). Pulisic was in and he's pulled him back. I don't like to see players getting sent off but by the letter of the law the referee should have shown him a second yellow card because Pulisic was bearing down on goal, he just had the defender to beat.

Celik takes a big risk as he pulls back Pulisic. The Lille man already has a yellow. The ref is lenient this time, though.

Willian almost makes up for the miss with a free-kick that he loops over the wall and towards the bottom corner, drawing another save from Maignan, the keeper grabbing at the second attempt.

I know it's game over - even with 45 minutes to go.

Chelsea fans won't want me to say that, but I can guarantee you that Chelsea are going into the knockout stages of the Champions League.

    Chelsea 2-0 Lille

Chelsea straight into attack mode as Christian Pulisic and then Willian force Maignan into saves. The Brazilian should probably have scored. He has a clear sight of goal from close range but put his low shot too close to the keeper.

Have Lille got anything in their locker to challenge Chelsea's grip on this game. On the evidence of the first half, no. Second half is under way.

Couldn't agree more with Ryan and Andy White. So glad we kept hold of Willian when Barca offered a miserly 60 mil, great strategy from the board letting Hazard go in the summer, think he stifled Willian's creativity.

Great to have your feedback 'Anonymous' but we really would like to put a name to your praise for Chelsea, just like Ryan and Andy have.

Kepa is talented but he's as raw as a Billings Gate Market trout. Rudiger bringing much needed calm to our back line in the face of Lille's luckless fisherman.

Tammy does score important goals. It is great for him to be compared with Drogba. I think he has a long way to go before we can place him in that category. But if he can improve at the rate Drogba did at Chelsea he will become one hell of a centre forward.

  16. Lukaku equalises for Interpublished at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2019

Inter Milan 1-1 Barcelona / Borussia Dortmund 1-1 Slavia Prague

Former Chelsea, West Brom, Everton and Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has just equalised for Inter Milan from 20 yards against Barcelona.

Inter boss Antonio Conte is punching the air as in the other match in Group F, Slavia Prague have just equalised away at Borussia Dortmund with a goal from Tomas Soucek.

Inter have to match Dortmund's result so two minutes ago the Italians looked to be heading into the Europa League, now, as it stands, they are on their way to the last 16 of the Champions League with Dortmund now heading for Thursday-night football.

  18. 'I have no idea how Salah scored'published at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2019

    Red Bull Salzburg 0-2 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to BT Sport: "What a team. What an effort. It was a tough game.

"They started so direct. They did so many smart things - playing in between the lines, running in behind, standing in offside positions. We were ready to defend it. It was a very tense game.

"In the second half they couldn't cope with the intensity. We scored two wonderful goals. We could have scored six or seven which is crazy. We won the group, we won the game, all good.

"First half, we had to put a proper shift in. When we had the ball we had sitters and didn't score. Then Mo [Mohamed Salah] scored the most difficult situation of the whole night - he scored that goal.

"I have no idea [how]. With his quality, how he didn't score one or two of the others I have no clue.

"So many sensational performances. This kind of attitude, it's great. A tricky one but we did it."

  19. 'We are in the last 16 and we know what we can do from there'published at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2019

    FT: RB Salzburg 0-2 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Andrew Robertson speaking to BT Sport: "Mo missed a couple of great chances. He and Bobby put so much pressure on themselves to score.

"We kept saying 'the next one, the next one, the next one', then he goes and scores from a ridiculous angle. I don't know how he's got it in from there on his weaker foot.

"All round it was an excellent team performance. People were saying that we were struggling, but we finished with four points more than last year and topped the group. We have got into the last 16 and know what we can do from there."
