Lifa Nati: How big of a presence is Rudiger at the back? I know this is not the toughest of games but he just came back from a long injury, absolutely immense.

Kev McVeigh: That run and header by Azpilicueta reminds me of Drogba in the 2012 final.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 45 mins

    Chelsea 2-0 Lille

The Lille keeper is in the thick of it again, coming out to punch away another cross and taking a full, charging Kurt Zouma to the body. On come the medical staff, out comes a yellow card for Zouma. Think that is a bit harsh. He had every right to go for the ball.

Chelsea in the hunt for a third. A corner is swung right into the mixer and Tammy Abraham fancies it, but is denied by the away keeper, who comes out fists first to punch away.

Qaaltagh: Ajax on the verge of going out of the Champion's League? I guess that's what happens when you sell all of your best players pretty much immediately after having one decent season.

Ajax are currently losing 1-0 at home to Valencia in the other game in Chelsea's group

  8. Lyon losingpublished at 20:42 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2019

RE: Andy White at 20:24: Great minds think alike the saying goes! I was JUST thinking that. Willian reminds me of a young Nani. Pace, power, a dangerous crosser and has scored some belters over the years. Chelsea cannot lose him in January as he pulls the strings in our midfield..

It's comfortable - a really good performance. Just what Frank Lampard would have wanted.

Lille making five changes has made it a bit easier for Chelsea but they still have to go out there and win the football match.

    Chelsea 2-0 Lille

Lille provide a little reminder to Chelsea that they can't switch off as Thiago Maia fires an angled drive just over the bar. It is the closest the away side have come to a goal.

I don't want to say it but I think that is game, set and match.

It was a brilliant whipped in ball from the corner and it's a free header for Azpilicueta.

A terrific header. Six yards out. Goalkeeper had no chance.

Lille are being outclassed and Chelsea can start planning for the last 16.

  16. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 2-0 Lillepublished at 35 mins

    Cesar Azpilicueta

That may well seal it. Cesar Azpilicueta is given all the time and space he needs to meet Willian's corner at the near post and glance a header in.

    Way too easy.

Lille can't get out of their half. Even when they win the ball they can't get out.

  18. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 Lille

Lille have offered nothing so far to worry Chelsea, who are managing this game with ease.

If they avoid any complacency here, the Blues should win at a canter.

Pulisic nearly conjures a second, beating a couple of men in the box and tucking over a cross that is cleared away from Abraham at the near post.

  19. Barca and Valencia leadpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2019

Inter Milan 0-1 Barcelona / Ajax 0-1 Valencia

Barcelona have rested Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez is only on the bench, but that has not stopped them. Carles Perez, a 21-year-old forward who is making his Champions League debut, has scored to give Barca the lead against Inter Milan.

Antoine Griezmann played it into the path of Arturo Vidal, who held it up and knocked it off to Perez, who shot past Samir Handanovic. Inter need to win this to go through to the last 16 or it will be the Europa League for them, with Borussia Dortmund, 1-0 up against Slavia Prague, currently heading into the knockout phase.

Valencia are also going through at the moment as they lead 1-0 at 2018-19 semi-finalists Ajax with a goal from Rodrigo Moreno. That will be Ajax into the Europa League unless they turn it around.

Abraham is most definitely the man of the moment, what a giant of the game. Chelsea's defence however has been been shaky last few weeks, can their big number 9 seal the deal with a few more goals? I think so!!!!
