    RB Salzburg 0-2 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on Radio 5 Live

It's an outrageous pass from Henderson and Salah reads the situation because the defender gets a touch - Stankovic in no man's land again and Salah just pushes it round him.

The angle is outrageous. I'm thinking 'it's on your weaker foot Mo, you can't do this' but he does and it's an outrageous finish from his hardest opportunity of the night.

Those two goals are hammer blows to Salzburg. They have to score three now to deny Liverpool a place in the last 16.

    Mohamed Salah

Oh yeah, sure, Mo, score the near impossible one won't you!

The Egyptian has missed a load of chances easier than this, this evening. But after breaking the offside trap and taking himself wide and past the keeper with a heavy touch, he somehow finds the narrowest angle to goal from out on the right with his effort from 20 yards. It was the only spot he could have put it in to find the net.

And just like that, Liverpool are in complete control.

    Naby Keita

    Massive goal!

It was never going to end 0-0, and it is that man Keita again, adding to his goal at Bournemouth with another against his former club.

The assist is also from an ex-Salzburg player, Sadio Mane beating the onrushing keeper and chipping over a cross that Keita nods in.

Sandy Gray: Liverpool didn't really shine at this stage of the Champions League last year either. I recall that worked out all right in the end

What a game of football we are witnessing here.

It's end to end like a basketball game.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 53 mins

    RB Salzburg 0-0 Liverpool

Dejan Lovren is done. He limps from the field to be replaced by Joe Gomez - a very able replacement. Gomez will need to get up to speed quickly, though, because Liverpool are in a real tussle here.

Liverpool dominating this but these missed chances will cost us. Should be at least 2-0 and Klopp will be telling them that.

    Massive let off for Liverpool!

Haaland is away and charges into the box. He has just Alisson to beat but his low shot goes wide of the post.

Seriously, how is this still goalless?!

Salah has pulled the shirt over his head.

It was a perfect opportunity for him again. Possible offside. It might have gone to VAR.

But it's another opportunity for Salah after a fantastic ball from Mane.

Salah again with an opportunity that goes begging. This time, the keeper takes the plaudits, diving at the Egyptian's feet to save.

Should Salah have gone with his other foot to try and get the ball around Stankovic?

    RB Salzburg 0-0 Liverpool

Another chance missed by Mo Salah. Sadio Mane finds him with a superb pass and the striker has just the keeper to beat, but somehow lifts his effort over the bar. He could have had a hat-trick already.

This chance came shortly after Salzburg were howling for a penalty at the other end, but they were never going to get one for a potential handball against Van Dijk.

Liverpool with the first effort of the half but Andy Robertson's angled drive from range doesn't test Cican Stankovic in the home net, instead bobbling wide.

Aaron Theaker: Keep up the good work Salzburg! We could really do with top spot in this group after our terrible league campaign! Who needs Haaland when you (Napoli) have hat-trick Milik?!

Yiltan Kemal: Salzburg’s style of football is reminiscent of Klopp's early days at Liverpool. Amazing energy!

Mark Willis: Hate to say it, but Salah off and Origi on please.

Salzburg much the better team showing more desire battling for every ball I would not be surprised if they win great game for the neutral.

As good as Salzburg are going forward they are giving Liverpool plenty of opportunities at the back.

Liverpool should be home and dry already.

Alisson has made some great saves himself but Liverpool should have taken their opportunities.
