Legia are wary of Rangers, whose interchanging has been really good. I've been impressed all night. If they all play narrow it triggers Tavernier to go. Steven Davis has played as a sitting midfielder all night, suddenly Davis steps forward and Aribo fill his position in deep. The interchange within that narrow midfield and when the wide men or the full-backs get forward and high is really impressive from Rangers.

  2. Chance gonepublished at 19:41 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

    Legia Warsaw 0-0 Rangers

Rangers have a free-kick in a dangerous area. Jedrzejcyk takes out Alfredo Morelos after a nice one-two with Scott Arfield.

James Tavernier's delivery isn't up to much, though, and the chance is gone.

  3. Forster 'in the building' - Lennonpublished at 19:39 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

    Celtic v AIK Stockholm (19:45)

Celtic manager Neil Lennon says a deal to bring back Fraser Forster to the Parkhead club is close.

He tells BBC Scotland: "He's in the building - it's not done yet. Probably subject to a medical. Hopefully we can get that one over the line.

"Scott Bain is going to be out for four to six weeks. That leaves me with one senior goalkeeper in Craig Gordon. Fraser was available, he's knows the club and we know him. It would be fantastic if we can get this deal done.

"He had a wonderful time here the first time. He's still only 30 so he's still at his peak."

Lennon also revealed Bain is unlikely to be in the Scotland squad for the double-header with Russia and Belgium next month.

"I would doubt very much he would make the Scotland squad," he said.

  5. Rangers pressingpublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

    Legia Warsaw 0-0 Rangers

Scott Arfield rolls the ball into the net...but the referee's whistle had gone long ago. He thinks Arfield fouled the Legia goalkeeper Majecki. He was just standing in front of him really, but keepers are a protected species these days.

  6. Rangers on toppublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

    Legia Warsaw 0-0 Rangers

A few nice moves there from the visitors. Some close, one-touch passes leading to yet another Rangers corner. You can tell the huge crowd inside the Polish Army Stadium aren't happy given the jeers coming from them. We have 10 minutes to go before half-time, Steven Gerrard's side certainly look the more likely to grab a goal before it.

    Happy so far, Rangers fans?

  7. Are Celtic fans as up for Europa League?published at 19:32 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

There isn't [as much appetite], but see when Celtic win these games you appreciate that it does matter. More to the point when they lose game, then you realise it really matters. Because Celtic aren't allowed to lose these games, doesn't matter what competition they're in. And that's at Celtic, Rangers, big clubs. It's not going to have the same resonance as a Champions League game, but if Celtic struggle the atmosphere from the crowd will be intense.

  8. CLOSE!published at 19:32 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

    Legia Warsaw 0-0 Rangers

Allan McGregor springs in to action to deny the hosts! Cafu found space on the edge of the area and lashed a shot goalwards, but McGregor stood tall to beat it clear. Legia are coming into the game now.

  9. 'We have to be more urgent'published at 19:31 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

    Celtic v AIK Stockholm (19:45)

Celtic manager Neil Lennon tells BBC Scotland: "We want to play our strongest team and put AIK - who are a very good side by the way - on the back foot early. Start the game tonight the way we started the second half against Cluj. We have to be far more urgent and play with a bit more verve.

"European football is important to the players, supporters, the club. If it can't be the Champions League then it has to be the Europa League."

  10. Composed Rangers, rigid Legiapublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

    Legia Warsaw 0-0 Rangers

Rangers are playing the ball about the midfield very nicely, trying to tease Legia out from their deep defensive position. The Polish side are a stubborn bunch though, keeping their shape well.

This quote, captured by the Scottish Sun's Derek McGregor, sounds more like a quote from a Batman film than a football banner, but a rather impressive one nevertheless.

  13. 'Good spell for Rangers'published at 19:19 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

    Legia Warsaw 0-0 Rangers

    Billy Dodds

    Quote Message

We talked about chances, two for Legia and one for Rangers - then suddenly Rangers got a bit of possession. The crowd are trying to boo, put them off but they keep possession really well. They all come narrow, they all come central and Legia just get into a formation to handle that. Really good spell from Rangers.

  14. Legia creakingpublished at 19:17 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

    Legia Warsaw 0-0 Rangers

Legia get away with one there.

Corner for Rangers comes in and when it's headed back across, Aribo challenges for the ball at the far post. He fresh-airs his header five yards out and Gvilia goes down holding the back of his head after no contact.

The Warsaw defence living a bit of a charmed life at the moment.

  15. Ojo closepublished at 19:13 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

    Legia Warsaw 0-0 Rangers

    Billy Dodds

    Quote Message

You think [Ojo's shot] is going in and the goalkeeper looks to his right where it just whips by his right post by a couple of yards. Really good all-round play from Rangers and maybe Ojo could've done better. It was good movement.

  16. CLOSE!published at 19:11 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

    Legia Warsaw 0-0 Rangers

Ooft, that was a good chance.

A whipped ball from Tavernier out on the right plonks right on the head of Ojo, but the winger can't get it on target. Good movement from him, but he could have done better with that.

Within 30 seconds at the other end, Allan McGregor makes a good save to deny Luquinhas low to his left.

    Things opening up now...

  17. So far, so good...published at 19:04 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

    Legia Warsaw 0-0 Rangers

We are only three minutes in but Rangers are the team on the front foot in Poland. Steven Gerrard's team are trying to get the ball out wide as much as possible to test the Legia defencee.

Give us a thumbs up for a yes, thumbs down for no.

  20. Legia will 'go to the wire' - Gerrardpublished at 18:56 British Summer Time 22 August 2019

    Legia Warsaw v Rangers (19:00)

Rangers are looking to reach the group stage for the second consecutive year. So far in this qualifying campaign they have come through ties against St Joseph's of Gibraltar, Progres Niderkorn of Luxembourg, and Midtjylland - all relatively comfortably.

But Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard reckons their play-off tie with Legia Warsaw will "go to the wire".
