  1. 'I got a text at 5pm... it was a relief'published at 21:49 British Summer Time 2 September 2019

    Celtic

Greg Taylor has been speaking at a sharply-convened press conference at Celtic Park. Here are some of his thoughts: "I got a few texts here and there then eventually at 5pm I got the text to say it was on. It was a moment of relief.

"I'm absolutely ecstatic to come to this massive football club. It will be an enjoyable ride.

"I'm very grateful to Kilmarnock for giving me the opportunity to play in the first team. I've enjoyed my time there and more of the same.

"If I impress in training, it's up to me to take those opportunities."

  2. Where will Dorrans end up?published at 21:46 British Summer Time 2 September 2019

    Rangers

One of the big departures of the evening was Graham Dorrans and Rangers parting ways through a mutual agreement to terminate the player's contract.

There will be plenty of time to debate and analyse Dorrans' time at the Glasgow side later but right now all eyes are surely on where the midfielder may end up next.

Hibernian coach Paul Heckingbottom stated just a few days ago that his midfield needed a little more bite to it, however, the Daily Record's Keith Jackson believes the 32-year old is set to make a permanent move to Kilmarnock.

We're now within the final three hours of the transfer window. Here is the verdict from some Scottish football fans. Get in touch with your thoughts by tweeting us at @BBCSportScot, external.

Graham: Reasonable window so far, but we need an attacking midfielder and a striker. (Kilmarnock)

Scott: Derek McInnes panicked and bought up a load of players too hastily, lacking quality particularly up front where he really needs a goalscorer. (Aberdeen)

Peter: I really hope James McPake is going for a goalkeeper. (Dundee)

Sandy: From a killie fans prospective, all the best to Greg Taylor. Still young and definitely will be winning league titles. (Kilmarnock)

  13. 'Callum, Ryan and James were asking what was happening'published at 21:00 British Summer Time 2 September 2019

    Celtic

Greg Taylor is now a Celtic player but his immediate attention now turns to Scotland. The national team have a crucial qualifier on Friday against Russia and then another on Monday against Belgium

However, being away on international duty offered little respite from the constant transfer speculation for the young defender.

Speakig to Celtic TV, Taylor said: “Callum [McGregor], Ryan [Christie] and James [Forrest] are with the Scotland squad just now and they were asking me today what was happening. Now that it’s over the line I can’t wait to be part of this squad, and to say that I’m a Celtic player is a dream come true.

“As a footballer, you want to win games and here the demand is to win every game, but I’m looking forward to that pressure. Hopefully, it will bring the best out in me, and it really is a massive honour to have signed for this club.”

  14. 'I was desperate to come to Celtic'published at 20:57 British Summer Time 2 September 2019

    Celtic

New Celtic defender Greg Taylor has wasted no time introducing himself to Celtic fans with exactly what they want to hear.

“It’s been a whirlwind of a day but I’m over the moon to be here and thankfully that’s it over the line,” Greg Taylor told Celtic TV. “As soon as I knew of Celtic’s interest, I was desperate to come, so it’s been a great day, certainly now that it’s done.

“It’s massive club, everyone knows that, and I’m here to win trophies, it’s as simple as that and I can’t wait to hopefully be a part of it. I’m delighted to be a Celtic player, and I want to try and impress the fans, and obviously the manager.

“A club this size wants to win trophies and they have done over the past few years, and now that I’m here, I want to help the team win more trophies.”

So are you happy with how well the summer transfer window has gone Hearts fans?

If you think the club have done well give us a thumbs up. If not, a thumbs down.

  19. Quantity over quality?published at 20:32 British Summer Time 2 September 2019

    Hearts

It has been a quiet evening for Hearts of Midlothian but much the same could be said of the Edinburgh club's entire summer transfer window.

Last season Craig Levein's side signed no less than 14 players. This time around they have picked up just eight.

However, those eight players do possess a certain degree of pedigree. Steven Naismith signed on a permanent deal after his loan, while Conor Washington, Craig Halkett, Glenn Whelan, Loic Damour and Jamie Walker arrived as senior players.

And to top it all off the club brought Joel Pereira in on loan from Manchester United and Ryotaro Meshino from Manchester City.
