West Ham striker Sebastien Haller has had more touches in his own box (two) than the opposition area (one).

James McCarthy goes close with a nice 25-yard strike which Roberto palms away. Moments later a deflection puts the ball into the side-netting.

West Ham almost take the lead. Sebastien Haller gets a touch onto a cross, the loose ball hits James McArthur, who almost puts it past his own keeper by accident. Vicente Guaita keeps it out.

Ryan Fredericks isn't happy with the ball as he goes to take a throw-in, too flat. So he gets another ball. Hopefully a magic ball with goals in it.

Almost a brilliant goal from Crystal Palace. Wilfried Zaha shows some great feet down by the byline including a couple of stepovers, he pulls it back to Jeffrey Schlupp, who is a bit surprised to see the ball. Schlupp fails to make sufficient contact and Ryan Fredericks clears it off the line.

Lovely football from West Ham but what a save from Crystal Palace's goalkeeper Vicente Guaita. Andriy Yarmolenko really should have scored but you have to give credit to the keeper. West Ham have really kicked it up a gear and they are really putting the pressure on Crystal Palace.

West Ham are well on top now. Two Ryan Fredericks crosses, two Felipe Anderson chances. The first is a volley he mis-hits and goes nowhere. The second is a diving header which Vicente Guaita saves.

Best chance by a million miles and West Ham should lead. Good wing play by Andriy Yarmolenko and he picks out Sebastien Haller free in the centre.

It's good goalkeeping by Vicente Guaita to make himself big and get in the way, but a £45m striker should be giving him no chance. There was space either side of the keeper, he hit it straight at him.

Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt needlessly concedes a corner as he chests a cross out of play with nobody behind him.

Crystal Palace can say that they have earned the respect of the game so far. They have managed to quieten the crowd which says a lot. Their attacks seem to peter out when it gets to the box. They need a bit more at the minute.

Good spell for Palace. Now Jordan Ayew, who is picked out in space, gets a shot in which hits his own team-mate Martin Kelly.

West Ham defender Issa Diop overcomplicates things, losing the ball to Jordan Ayew, and has to bring down the forward to stop him getting away.

A good move by Palace which ends abruptly. Wilfried Zaha finds Patrick van Aanholt but the defender miscontrols, the ball hits his heel, and the attack is over.

At 29 years and 279 days old, Crystal Palace have named their oldest ever Premier League starting line-up. With the oldest manager Roy Hodgson.

This is James McCarthy's first Premier League start since January 2018. He's replacing the suspended Luka Milivojevic today.

And McCarthy is fine to continue after getting a fair bit of treatment.
