  4. Celtic 'should have had two penalties' - Lennonpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    FT: Hibernian 1-1 Celtic

Celtic manager Neil Lennon tells BBC Scotland: "It may sound like sour grapes but we clearly should have had two penalties.

"They're not debatable penalty decisions, they're clear cut penalty decisions. And if we get one of those it changes the psychology of the game completely. I don't understand how at least one of them was not given."

Lennon though admitted Olivier Ntcham was fortunate not to be sent off in the first half for a tussle with Josh Vela.

"You can't raise your hands but maybe common sense was used by the referee. We'll need to have a quiet word with Olivier about that. So, possibly [he could have been sent off]."

  5. Hibs have been 'let down' by officials - Heckingbottompublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    FT: Hibernian 1-1 Celtic

Hibs boss Paul Heckingbottom tells BBC Scotland: "Lots of things we want to see at a football match, and lots of things I never want to see again. It's tough, we should be here talking about the game and the football, but we're talking about the decisions. Kevin Clancy's not made any decisions on purpose, but we as a football club have been let down - the staff, the players, and the fans. They've seen a wholehearted, committed performance, something the players and fans can be proud of.

"There's a free-kick we should've had but didn't get, Glenn Middleton went through and Moritz Bauer falls over and trips him and slips, but they get the free-kick. It comes straight back again, we put a good press on and pinch the ball back and they get the free kick five seconds later. The players thought it was a drop-ball, not a free-kick. It's poor from our part, but decisions go wrong and we have to deal with it but the (non) sending off is the most frustrating thing for me.

"We should've been playing against ten men. For Ntcham's sending off, 100%."

On his red card, he adds: "It was a bad mistake from me, the bottle was just there in front of me. I think I kicked an advertising board before Glenn Middleton's decision. I shouldn't have done it but I was sent off for confronting the fourth official.

"I have no need to see Kevin Clancy. Maybe he'll watch it back and I'll get a call from him apologising. We were anything but a soft touch today. They should be proud of that performance. The tactics mean nothing unless you play with fire in your belly."

New half, same story for Killie.

    HT: St Mirren 0-0 Hearts

    Jonathan Sutherland
BBC Sport Scotland at Simple Digital Arena

St Mirren are the lowest scorers in the Premiership and more evidence today why that’s the case.

Some good opportunities for Kyle Magennis, Ilkay Durmus and Junior Morias - but all squandered.

But there is cruelty in the air also - the great wash of relief that swept over the stadium was palpable when Tony Andreu’s effort bulged the net. But that relief turned to agony as the assistant referee raised his flag for offside. One for Sportscene tomorrow night.

Hearts have had good chances in this half - Christophe Berra forcing a couple of saves from Vaclav Hladky, Steven MacLean and Craig Halkett with some early efforts plus a penalty claim from Ryo Meshino.

Plenty happening in Paisley, but - as many probably expected - no goals.

  17. More misery for suffering Saintspublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    St Johnstone 0-1 Motherwell HT

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at McDiarmid Park

It has not been great but Motherwell are probably just about deserving of their lead in a disappointing game of few chances.

Devante Cole spared his own blushes after his remarkable close-range miss with the goal.

Saints are without a win in the Premiership this season and they are not going to get it today unless they improve massively after the break.
