    BBC Radio 5 live commentator

Manchester United are trying to rally here. For the first time Bournemouth are sitting deep and letting United come on to them. At the moment it is a lot of huff and puff from Manchester United. That timing of the goal seems to have knocked the stuffing out of them. It's a really good atmosphere here from Bournemouth fans.

Aditya Takkar: The worst thing to happen on a weekend is not having a working Saturday. It's having to watch Manchester United play.

Sean Fox: The best part about this United game so far is that Ashley Young is now suspended for their next match.

    Good save David de Gea!

The Spain keeper might just have kept Manchester United in this one as he stretches out a hand to keep out Harry Wilson's shot that looked destined for the bottom corner.

    Bournemouth 1-0 Man Utd

Manchester United are really struggling to find a way to open up the Bournemouth defence as they pass the ball from left to right on the edge of the box and back again.

Eventually, Fred's patience snaps and he decides to go for goal... over the bar.

Paul Cunningham: Are we the only team that gets worse in attack when our striker comes back from injury? Martial has been awful ever since we signed him.

I'd rather United just let the opposition have a goal kick rather than having to watch their utterly pathetic corners.

Paul: United aren't that young of a side: these are mostly all experienced players. It is not like they are all teenagers so age is no excuse, they are just awful up top.

I wonder whether Maguire regrets leaving a great team at a good club to join an appalling team at a great club.

Dan James has been quiet for a while but he puts in a very inviting cross to the far post but Nathan Ake heads clear.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 68 mins

    Bournemouth 1-0 Man Utd

That long-awaited change happens for Manchester United as Andreas Pereira is replaced by Jesse Lingard.

Lingard hasn't scored in the Premier League for almost a year and now would certainly be the time for him to end that long barren run.

Harry Wilson is over the free-kick. He's a danger from this sort of range and he steps up but catches it all wrong and the ball flies well over the bar.

Red Devil: Anything other than a win for me today and Solskjaer needs to go

Thomas Knights: Just once can Ole even try to be proactive, United struggling to create anything, yet refuses to change anything and allows the match to stagnate, very poor management.

  13. CLOSE!published at 62 mins

    Bournemouth 1-0 Man Utd

A let off for Manchester United as a cross deflects off Harry Maguire's face and almost catches out David de Gea but the Manchester United keeper does well to block Joshua King as the forward comes storming into the box.

Jesse Lingard is ready to come on for the visitors.

  14. Postpublished at 60 mins

    Bournemouth 1-0 Man Utd

Ryan Fraser is the third Bournemouth player to go into the book as he slides in late on Dan James.

Struggling to see a clear gameplan from Manchester United now. After such a bright start they seem to be lacking ideas now.

Kyle: United have a young side. With young sides you are going to get inconsistencies. One minute they can put in good performances like against Chelsea, Liverpool and Norwich the next they are awful against Newcastle and West Ham.

Michael Reid: United know they're a goal behind, right?

  16. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Bournemouth 1-0 Man Utd

Manchester United have stopped going down the flanks and try their luck through the middle as Andreas Pereira swivels and shoots on the edge of the area. It is awkward for Aaron Ramsdale and he can only push behind for a corner, which comes to nothing.

    Oh that's nasty.

Steve Cook comes steaming in on Marcus Rashford and takes the Manchester United forward out. Yellow card.

Andreas Pereira hits a ball through the middle trying to find Anthony Martial but he overhits it and the ball rolls out of play to the sound of ironic cheers from the home fans.

Martial rolls his head back in frustration. Distinct lack of tempo from Manchester United at the moment.

  19. Postpublished at 50 mins

    Bournemouth 1-0 Man Utd

Bournemouth are on the hunt for a second as Philip Billling finds Harry Wilson, he cuts inside and tries to play in Callum Wilson but the pass is a little heavy. Right idea, though.

Manchester United are yet to get going in this half.
