Watch as Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers says he was very impressed with his side after they beat Arsenal 2-0 at home.

Arsenal

Arsenal manager Unai Emery: "In the end, a bad result. Before the first goal we were in the match and in the second half we started to push in and create chances but they are in a good moment and they won.

"The first half we defended well together and had some good transition, but they were pushing, doing the pressing and sometimes we broke the pressing and got in the box with two full-backs and also the strikers, and we had chances to score.

"The second half we started better, we were pushing and showing we wanted to win. They work very well, the players felt comfortable and defended well and we had chances. With Mesut Ozil we keep the ball sometimes like we want and it is the way to carry on.

"The attitude was good, every player. Now is time to rest with the international break. I'm sure we're going to improve after that. We need to achieve, at home, confidence and to be strong. We didn't lose [many games] but we draw so much, that's what's important for the table, but I think we can achieve the balance to be strong and get better in these matches."

Abid: Great time to be a Leicester fan. Playing better football than we did when we won the league! Everyone's talking about our attacking play but Soyuncu and Evans have formed a brilliant partnership at the back. Fully deserve to be in the top three!

Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has also been talking about Jamie Vardy: "It's firstly about giving him confidence. He is up there with the very, very top strikers in European football with what he brings to a team, his pressing.

"We've allowed him to do essentially what he wants to do - he's so honest, he'd press he whole back four if he could.

"How we play, being aggressive and playing quickly obviously suits him. But his finishing ability, how clinical he is, is absolutely phenomenal. That's a big testament to his concentration - when the opportunities come he's always ready."

And here is the man in question, Leicester striker Jamie Vardy: "I'm playing probably the best that I ever have but there's a long way to go.

"I'm always willing to learn, there's new tactics with the gaffer and I'm always trying to give 100% and it's paying dividends for myself.

"The creativity we've got in the side is going to benefit the team massively. We've got to take each game as they come. It's still early on in the season - it's a long slog.

"There's a lot of momentum round the club and everyone's enjoying themselves. That enjoyment comes with winning."

Tammy Abraham had moved level with Jamie Vardy at the top of goal charts, but Vardy has gone back out on his own with his 11th Premier League goal of the season.

Luke: Arsenal's squad is easily the best of the rest after Liverpool and City. The only thing that holding it back is the manager.

Leicester City

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers says: "This is a team that's very focused, very good defensively, and I felt we controlled large parts of the game.

"A great victory for us against players that can really hurt you. We were able to manage that threat and play some great football.

"The way it's been going for a period of time now, it's nice because the players know they have the qualities to win any game against any opposition.

"You're playing against a top team with really good players, so you have to be patient but we showed real quality to break through. A very, very important three points."

Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel said: "Momentum is such an important thing in football. We've had a good start to the season.

"It was a tough game, they've got quality all over the pitch. When we moved the ball quickly we gave them problems. For us it was really, really important that we stayed patient and moved the ball quickly and the first goal was basically the epitome of what were looking for.

"I felt we were quite solid and I was quite confident with Vards up top and the boys behind him we'd do something.

"For us it's been about enjoying doing what we're doing and basically coming out and showing all the talent we have which is huge really.

"We've had success at this club before by taking it one game at a time, so who knows."

England conceded a late goal to lose their friendly against Germany at Wembley - in front of a record crowd for a Lionesses game of 77,768.

Klara Buhl struck with less than a minute left after the home side had fought back from Alexandra Popp's eighth-minute opener.

Nikita Parris had a penalty saved in the first half, but Ellen White equalised just before half-time.

England visibly tired to lose for the fifth time in six outings.

• Leicester’s haul of 26 points from their 12 Premier League games this season is their most ever at this stage of a top-flight campaign, and one more than they had in their title winning season of 2015-16.
• Arsenal’s record of 17 points and -1 goal difference is their worst start to a top-flight season after 12 games since 1982-83 (15 points). They also had 17 points in 2014-15, but had goal difference of +5.
• Leicester’s Jamie Vardy has scored nine goals in his nine Premier League starts against Arsenal – in Premier League history, only Wayne Rooney (12), Robbie Fowler (10) and Harry Kane (10) have scored more against the Gunners.
• Vardy is the top Premier League goalscorer so far this season (11), as well as being the top scorer in the competition in 2019 (23).
• James Maddison has scored more goals from outside the box than any other player in the Premier League this season (three).

• Leicester have won three consecutive top-flight home games against Arsenal for the first time in their history.
• Leicester have won five Premier League home games in a row for only the second time, last doing so in May 2017 under Craig Shakespeare.
• Arsenal had just one shot on target in this match, with that effort coming in the 20th minute from Alexandre Lacazette.
• Arsenal are winless in their last five Premier League away games since beating Newcastle 1-0 on the opening weekend (drew two, lost three).

Leicester fans are starting to dream again. This win takes them above Manchester City and Chelsea, although Pep Guardiola's side will regain second spot if they avoid defeat at Anfield against Liverpool tomorrow.

Sheffield United fans will be absolutely delighted with this table too. Liverpool will go eight points clear at the top if they win tomorrow.
