So many of Arsenal's problems seem to scream out but Arsene Wenger struggled to fix them and Unai Emery came in with new ideas and he has struggled.

Emery is so animated all the time. Even the way he talks in his post-match interview. He likes to talk and I wonder if the language barrier has proved more difficult for him than he thought it would be with his motivational skills.

Bournemouth

Eddie Howe speaking on Match of the Day: "They punished our sloppy mistakes, in the end we created chances but did no put them away.

"We had the initiative of the game but gave it away, I felt we should have kept the ball better and we need to learn from it.

"We are looking for consistency, backing up a great win with another one and today we missed an opportunity. This result will really hurt for the next two weeks."

On their goal from a well-worked set-piece: "Credit to Jason Tindall (Bournemouth assistant manager) this is something we work in training and credit to the players too.

"Moments like that can really win you the games but right now I have got something else in my mind."

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs midfielder Moussa Sissoko: "We are struggling since the beginning of the season. Why? I don't know, because we are trying our best, but it's not working. We see today it was a difficult game against a good team.

"We couldn't keep the score, so we have a lot of frustration, but we need to keep going. We have to stick together and try to work hard and come back stronger. That is the only way to perform.

"Every team can have difficult moments. Since a few weeks we are struggling and that's football. What can you do? Keep working, give your best every day 'til eveyrthing turns around.

"We know we have a good squad with a lot of quality. We know we can do better and have to do better. Hopefully we'll go away, have some wins with our national teams, and this will give us confidence. The season is still long, in the Champions League we are doing well."

England women's team are taking on Germany tonight in front of what is expected to be a record attendance for a UK women's match.

Burnley

Burnley boss Sean Dyche, speaking to MOTD: "We were off the mark last week. From the very beginning of the game today our body language, intent and belief was there.

"Dwight McNeil had a tough game last week but he bounced back with a really good performance. I told him this week I'd kick him somewhere if he didn't smile more!

"We have picked up six points from last five games. It doesn't sound much but when you see the teams we have played then it's not a bad return.

"People forget we had one bad game last week - we've actually been going along well this season."

These are great times for Sheffield United fans...

Mikecuell: This Saints team are doomed. No quality especially at the back. Vestergard is stealing a lucrative living as a PL footballer. Hasenhuttl can’t afford the luxury of the only player who can make things happen (Boufal) because it would be a Leicester every week. Painful.

Did Arsenal appoint the wrong man? That is the question on many Gunners' fans lips and today they get to see how their side fare against the man who many have suggested should have been - and maybe should still be - Arsenal's boss.

Brendan Rodgers has done an outstanding job since replacing Claude Puel in February with the former Liverpool and Celtic boss leading a squad that has a strong team spirit, attacking flair and a clear identity on the pitch - everything Arsenal appear not to possess.

Reports this week have suggested Arsenal are lining up Rodgers as under pressure Unai Emery's replacement and this match could be seen as something of an audition. Then again, it could be argued why would Rodgers want to leave a side that appears to be in a significantly better place than their opponents?

Newcastle United

Newcastle United goalscorer DeAndre Yedlin: "It is massive result for us and it gives us a lot of confidence going into the international break.

On his goal: "The gaffer told me to get into the box more, I knew I was going to shoot but I was a bit nervous when they were checking VAR.

"It is hard to celebrate and then get if you get caught offside you look a bit stupid but thankfully in the end it was given as a goal."

Manuel Pellegrini won the Premier League in his time at Manchester City. He could well be finding himself out of a job soon as West Ham drop down to 16th, after a poor showing in a 3-0 loss at Burnley.

West Ham United

West Ham's Declan Rice: "It's been like this since the Crystal Palace game. We were nowhere near good enough. We haven't kicked on and we have been poor.

"There is a real buzz around the place during the week but it it gets to the game and we go 1-0 down our heads drop.

"We need to do the basics - the simple five-yard passing, the tackling. We were bullied all over the pitch - Burnley were winning everything. It's not good enough."

Sheffield United

John Lundstram, who was ruled offside for Sheffield United's 'equaliser': "Maybe we'll reflect on it and see what we could have done to win the game, but I think we'd all have bitten your hand off for a point. They're a top quality side.

"If you're in the dressing room you'll know I've got quite long toes! It was disappointing. It got the right decision in the end so you can't argue. I knew as soon as the ref was looking for a couple of minutes it was offside. It showed the team's character to bouce back.

"The gaffer will just keep pushing for more, he won't be satisfied. There's still a long way to go, we'll take every game as it comes. The boys never get too high when we win or too low when we lose."

What an opening dozen games to the season for Sheffield United, who find themselves fifth in the country.

OK, they might drop down to sixth in a couple of hours' time but what a job Chris Wilder is doing.

Everton

Everton midfielder Tom Davies: "It's a big win - our first away of the season. We are made up with it.

"The lads have put in a solid performance so we are all happy with it.

"Southampton haven't had the best start and neither have we and you could feel it around the place.

"We are all gutted for Andre [Gomes]. We are looking to help him out around the place. To get the win is great because it has been tough [following Gomes' injury]."

Remember, we've still got one match left. Leicester versus Arsenal at 17:30 GMT. A very decent way to end a lively day.

All the things we've been asking this Everton team to do - show their quality, show they can battle through adversity - they've done it. They played so well in the first half, didn't make the most of their opportunities, but they've found the winner and ground it out. There was real togetherness and it shows what that team is capable of.

From a goal down, Newcastle get the victory.
