It is a crisp and clear day as the players head out at Old Trafford. Not quite so pleasant at Molineux where clouds have gathered above the stadium, but no rain at least unlike yesterday.

There will, of course, be a minute's silence ahead of kick off to mark Remembrance Day.

Old Trafford will host the biggest Premier League crowd today but everyone knows where the big game is.

Manchester United's task is to get back to the level they were at during Sir Alex Ferguson's days as manager.

United will end today somewhere between seventh and 15th. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows it is not good enough for a club of this size.

Thumbs up if you think VAR will have a big part to play in today's top-of-the-table clash between Liverpool and Manchester City?

Premier League referees are to be encouraged to make more use of pitchside VAR monitors, referees' chief Mike Riley is expected to tell clubs later this week.

All 20 top-flight clubs will be represented at a meeting with Riley in central London on Thursday.

Top of the agenda will be the ongoing controversies around VAR, which continued on Saturday when Sheffield United had a goal ruled out at Tottenham because of a marginal offside decision.

Brighton have a significant incentive for victory at Manchester United today.

A win will take Graham Potter's men into fifth, which would equal their highest placing ever in the Football League.

It is also the first time Brighton have been higher than United going into a game against them.

  12. 'Brandon Williams looks brilliant'published at 13:36 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November 2019

Man Utd v Brighton (14:00 GMT)

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Every time I saw Brandon Williams in a Man Unied shirt he looked brilliant.

He looks really attacking and when I watched him at Chelsea in the Carabao Cup not long ago he was United's best player.

On the other hand Leandron Troassard is also an exciting player and Brighton are a team that go for it.

You would not expect them to play two up front at Old Trafford, but they are really playing attacking fooball under Graham Potter. This should be a really good game.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, speaking to BBC Sport: "Brandon’s been very good when he has played, and it’s a good test for him. We rested him on Thursday to be ready for today.

"We’ve done well in the Carabao and the Europa League, did well against Liverpool, but obviously the league form has to improve. A win today will be important, international breaks you want to go into in a good mod

Little should be read into Villa's recent EFL Cup win as both teams played shadow sides. The Premier League is a different matter.

Wolves are unbeaten in their last six but have drawn too many games to see that reflected in the table. Maybe that's a consequence of their Europa League exertions?

With the notable exception of a 5-1 win at Norwich, Villa have struggled on the road. However, their record in the Premier League at Molineux is excellent.

Traditionally this isn't the biggest West Midlands derby on the calendar but, with Albion and Blues still in the Championship, surely for local bragging rights it IS the biggest this season.

Francesca Gunn: Looking at the United line up, how come Williams (who has been good) get a call up to start the game but not Greenwood as well...

Michael Reid: Mata was clearly the difference maker for United on Thursday night; no idea why Ole would drop him for today's game!

  16. Brandon Williams' meteoric risepublished at 13:25 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November 2019

It is fair to say Brandon Williams has made rapid progress at Manchester United this season.

Williams, 19, made 23 appearances for United's Under-18 side last season.

Now he is making his seventh first-team appearance - and his first Premier League start as skipper Ashley Young misses out through suspension.

It has been a difficult season at Old Trafford but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is certainly giving youth a chance.

Lawro is up against Liverpool-born actor Stephen Graham for this week's Premier League predictions.

No surprises that Graham is going for a Liverpool win in this one.

"I support Liverpool because it is in my DNA," he told BBC Sport.

"This is the fixture I looked out for straight away at the start of the season. Hopefully it is a brilliant game. We are at home so I have got to back us to beat City. 2-1

"Jurgen Klopp is absolutely wonderful. He is a genius. He is like Willy Wonka isn't he? He is just lovely."
