Rashford could have had a hat-trick, he’ll be disappointed but he has been brilliant.

Marcus Rashford hits a low effort just the wrong side of the far post after being teed up Anthony Martial. The two have linked up really well today.

As things stand Wolves are climbing up to eighth in the Premier League.

After a slow start to the season things appear to be coming together for them both at home in Europe.

Wonderful feet by Anthony Martial as he brings a high ball under control before playing it between two Brighton defenders for himself but his shot is straight at the keeper. That would have been some goal.

Every Manchester United player appears to be enjoying themselves and playing with confidence out there. Feels like a while since they've looked this way in the Premier League.

Brighton have been ponderous this afternoon, they have no pace going forward and Manchester United will be disappointed if they don’t win this game by four or five goals because they have had the chances.

In the second half Manchester United have improved.

Bit of pressure from Aston Villa as they go all out in an effort to snatch a point. They are putting plenty of balls into the box but the home side are batting them away pretty comfortably at the moment.

Lewis Dunk brings down Marcus Rashford on the edge of the box. Dunk, already on a yellow, sees Jon Moss reaching into his pocket and pleads with him but is relieved to see the vanishing spray pulled out to mark the line for the free kick.

Fred then sends the free kick over the wall and wide of goal.

Forget that miss by Marcus Rashford because it really shouldn't take away from what has been a brilliant display by the forward.

He's unlucky not to get his second of the game as he absolutely does Davy Propper with a delightful shimmy and then tries to power the ball through Mat Ryan's legs but the Brighton keeper just about manages to keep it out.

Colin Reardon: That's got to be the miss of the season so far by Rashford!

Abishek Reddy: But for the Rashford miss that counter was from the Tevez, Rooney, Ronaldo times.

Jon: what a miss, when Rashford can score the easy ones I’ll consider him a top top player fantasy points down the drain!

Some concern for Aston Villa as Tyrone Mings is down injured and looks on real discomfort. Villa have already made all three substitutions but fortunately Mings is able to continue for now.

Manchester United could and probably should be four or five up now as Brandon Williams and Daniel James both have decent efforts denied by Mat Ryan.

I don’t know how Rashford has missed it. I can’t believe it and he can’t believe it either.

Sometimes you have these chances and you think you have scored already before the ball even hits your foot...

The team news is in from Anfield with Liverpool making one change from their last Premier League game as Fabinho comes in for Adam Lallana.

Claudio Bravo starts in goal in place of Ederson, Rodri in for David Silva for Manchester City.

Large crowds of Liverpool fans greet the Manchester City bus as it pulls off Anfield Road into the stadium - but certainly nothing in the way of great hostility.

Manchester City were concerned about a repeat of the attack on their bus before the Champions League quarter-final here in April 2018 after a poster appeared on social media calling for Liverpool supporters to "greet" its arrival.

There was jeering, gestures and the odd red flare but absolutely nothing untoward and all relatively tame and civilised.

Wolves are looking the most likely to add to their lead at Molineux as Raul Jimenez does well to work a bit of space for himself but the finish is disappointing as he fires well wide.

Daniel James puts it on a plate for Marcus Rashford but he somehow fires wide from barely five yards out.

Good job he had just scored because that was a gobbler.
