Silvio Di Fede: Just comparing last season first half at ManCity and this first half, Chelsea have to be proud. They are on the right way. They are improving and playing good football. Well done Lampard. Said by an Arsenal fan

Sulaimon Adelekan: What an interesting first half from both teams and Chelsea don't deserve to be behind. As a neutral, I am enjoying this.

Watching the Chelsea youngsters, you have to ask, is Phil Foden at the right club?

  13. 'I'm not thinking about sack'published at 18:29 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    FT: Everton 0-2 Norwich

    Everton

Everton manager Marco Silva, speaking to Sky Sports: "Many things went wrong. When you do not perform, it is not good enough. You cannot play football if you are not making the right decisions. They came here to play football and keep it compact but we played too slow in the first half and did not create enough chances. We made a big mistake ourselves in the first goal."

On booing from the crowd: "The crowd was not happy with the performance and they are right. We did not perform at the right level to get the points today. We need to play with more courage and mobility. The intensity was a little bit low. I am not thinking about it [whether I might be sacked]. I am concentrating on being disappointed with this afternoon."

  14. 'Late winner is a cruel blow'published at 18:26 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "The players should be congratulating themselves on taking a point from the leaders but it wasn't to be.

"Throughout there was not an awful lot of clear-cut chances. The fact is you must take your chances and we only took one of ours.

"The late winner is a cruel blow but I have nothing to complain about from my side. I want to be positive, I think it was our best performance so far this season."

On ending a difficult run of fixtures: "We knew these five games would be tough and we were staring down the barrel of five defeats. To reach our goal of staying in the division then it won't be a result of winning or losing against Manchester City or Liverpool.

"It will be a question of performing well against the teams around us. Those are the games that will be crucial to us in terms of our survival."

  15. 'We can't be brilliant every game'published at 18:24 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, speaking to Sky Sports: "At the end we won the game and it was deserved as well. There was not too many mistakes but the goal they scored was good.

"I'm happy with the result and big parts of the performance because I know it's not possible to be brilliant every game."

On Crystal Palace's equaliser: "If you don't finish the game off they will keep going. The atmosphere was really good. We defended slightly too deep.

"It's not that they scored and we decide 'right we can start winning the game now'. We knew it would be tough. Now we have won, good, let's go home and prepare for Napoli."

  16. 'Second half is a warning'published at 18:22 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    FT: Bournemouth 1-2 Wolves

    Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "The first half was really good. We’ve played a lot of games already and this was a dangerous one.

"What happened in the second half must serve as a warning to us. It was very difficult. Bournemouth showed a lot of character, with a lot of set-pieces and long balls.

"Eddie and his players are amazing. They've done a brilliant job."

Mickey Haimes: Chelsea were moving the ball so quickly. No unnecessary touches and plenty of movement. Just couldn't turn the screw when they had City on the back foot, and when you don't use your advantage against top teams you pay the price.
