    Man City 2-1 Chelsea

    What's he doing?

Extraordinary let off for Kepa Arrizabalaga who has a moment of madnes and passes straight to Sergio Aguero but the City man lashes it against the bar and Chelsea escape.

    That should have been 3-1.

    Riyad Mahrez

If only every Premier League game was like this...

Chelsea have done little wrong but they are behind after an outstanding run and finish by Riyad Mahrez.

He slaloms his way into Chelsea's penalty area and past two defenders before firing through the legs of Fikayo Tomori and past the outstretched hand of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

    Brilliant game!

Patrice West: That goal was the definition of 'against the run of play'.

Chris Arkwright: Very fortunate goal there from Man City, Chelsea deflections, cracking game though.

  8. 'A wicked deflection'published at 18:02 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Man City 1-1 Chelsea

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC 5 Live

It was a great reaction from City. Jorginho lost the ball with a poor pass in midfield.

De Bruyne pulls into his left foot and it takes a wicked deflection - not a great strike but City are back in it.

    Kevin de Bruyne

You cannot take your eyes off this!

City level after a tale of two deflections. David Silva runs at Chelsea's defence before his deflected pass falls for Kevin de Bruyne whose shot hits Kurt Zouma on its way into the net.

There was nothing Kepa Arrizabalaga could do about that.

  10. 'Too good for City's defence'published at 17:57 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC 5 Live

Chelsea look very dangerous on the counter.

Kante takes the ball into the area under pressure from Mendy but he manages to trickle his shot past Ederson.

A great run from midfield, too good for City’s defence.

It’s end to end, a great game.

Hassan Faruk: Great vision, great pass from Kovacic for that goal.

Frankie Lampard would have been proud of that one: running past the no.9 from deep. Class.

N'Golo Kante has scored three goals from just three shots on target in the Premier League this season. That's clinical.

    N'Golo Kante

You cannot say they don't deserve it!

Chelsea have been excellent against the reigning champions and they take the lead after a wonderful move carves open City's defence.

It's a glorious pass by Mateo Kovacic to find N'Golo Kante who is shadowed by two City defenders but manages to get his shot away and the ball trickles over the line.

Frank Lampard is out of his seat. He liked that!

The only thing missing so far is a goal.

Both teams have got their attacking heads on but Kepa Arrizabalaga and Ederson have yet to make a save.

Chances galore but none on target.

  17. CLOSE!published at 16 mins

    Man City 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea are looking really lively and alert.

After Martin Atkinson plays advantage following a foul on a Chelsea player, N'Golo Kante's cross is deflected behind by John Stones for a corner.

City fail to clear it and Fikayo Tomori lets fly from the edge of the penalty area. That was very close.

Emerson finds Christian Pulisic whose cross is only half cleared before Tammy Abraham bends a great chance wide after a pass by N'Golo Kante.

  20. CLOSE!published at 9 mins

    Man City 0-0 Chelsea

    What a cracking start!

Chelsea have been under pressure from the kick-off but break on the counter through Tammy Abraham.

He releases Willian whose low angled drive flashes just wide.

    It could be 1-1 already.
