  5. 'That's not enough from City'published at 13:27 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC 5 Live

For all the possession City had and the movement they did, they have not created enough chances in the first half.

Newcastle are defending the box well and they got a good reaction after conceding the goal.

  8. Newcastle's Saint-Maximin causing City troublepublished at 13:23 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

    Saj Chowdhury
BBC Sport at St James' Park

A large round of applause from the home fans - yet another unexpected display from the men in black and white.

As for Pep Guardiola's side, what do they do about Allan Saint-Maximin?

At the moment he's having a field day on the left, while Jetro Willems is over-lapping with little bother. Will Kyle Walker position himself a little deeper after the break?

dzw: Kevin de Bruyne’s passing GPS needs a software patch. He’s doing all the right things but he can’t connect like he was earlier in the season.

As a City fan, I'm genuinely concerned about our hopes of a top 4 finish. We have been woeful this season.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

And that ends the half. Brilliant stuff from Newcastle. Man City lacking bite. Big half coming up. Don't go anywhere!

  11. Postpublished at 45+2 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

Raheem Sterling tees up Kevin de Bruyne on the edge of the box. He hits it first time but three Newcastle players throw their bodies on the line to make the block.

  12. Postpublished at 45+1 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

The ball comes into the City box and John Stones doesn't quite clear it. It falls kindly for Miguel Almiron but he has to take a touch to get it under control.

He can't get it to sit up right and the chance to shoot goes begging before it's cleared. Just hit it!

  13. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

Newcastle goalscorer Jetro Willems heads off to get some treatment. He'll be fine though. Riyad Mahrez takes the throw-in on the right but again, there's no space for City.

  14. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

Kyle Walker is shoved aside by Allan Saint-Maximin and City have a free-kick, much to the dislike of the home crowd.

City take it quickly but it's too rushed. David Silva ends up poking it out for a throw-in the other way.

  15. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

Raheem Sterling tip-toes his way along the edge of the box and pushes it out to Riyad Mahrez, who has a bit of space.

The winger drives towards the backline but his lifted cross is over everybody. Pep Guardiola turns and hangs his head on the touchline...

  16. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

This isn't a blockbuster but it's such an intriguing game. Newcastle are playing brilliantly. They are soaking up the pressure, squeezing the space for City and throwing everything into their counter-attacks. Can they keep it up for 90 minutes?

City there for the taking today. Too many misplaced passes in our build up and looking vulnerable on the break.

  18. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

Allan Saint-Maximin is a terror. He's causing all kinds of problems. He opens up space to have a run at Fernandinho but the Brazilian is equal to it.

    Solid defending.

  19. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

David Silva and Raheem Sterling are trying to walk it in. There's lots of nice touches, intricate flicks and smart shimmies in the box but not too many shots from close-range.

Again, the ball comes back out to Sterling on the edge but his shot bobbles wide. Benjamin Mendy then immediately wins a corner on the left.

  20. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

Raheem Sterling has space on the edge of the box as he cuts onto his right foot. David Silva makes a distracting run to his left and Sterling takes the opportunity to shoot, curling it down the centre.

It's well held by Martin Dubravka, who was alert to the danger of Gabriel Jesus lurking for the rebound.
