Josh Earl: Absolutely ridiculous goal from De Bruyne, what a player.

Anon: I'm no great fan of Kevin de Bruyne but credit where it's due, that really was special.

  2. goal

GOAL - Newcastle 2-2 Man Citypublished at 88 mins

    Jonjo Shelvey

The resulting free-kick is laid off to Jonjo Shelvey on the edge of the box. He's completely unmarked and might as well be wearing a sign saying 'I'm going to smash this.'

That's exactly what he does, straight into the bottom left corner and it's another screamer.

    What. A. Game.

    Newcastle 1-2 Man City

Fernandinho, already on a yellow card, is given a real lifeline by referee Chris Kavanagh, as he brings down Javier Manquillo just outside the box.

    No second yellow...

  4. 'A dream goal from De Bruyne'published at 14:14 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Newcastle 1-2 Man City

    Izzy Christiansen
England and Lyon midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is a dream goal. It is one of those goals that when you score your facial expression does not change because you are in shock you have just done that!

  5. Postpublished at 86 mins

    Newcastle 1-2 Man City

A corner is swung in from the left and it's headed out to Fernandinho on the edge of the box. He steadies himself and goes for an audacious volley. It flies way over the bar.

  6. 'Wonderful strike!'published at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Newcastle 1-2 Man City

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC 5 Live

It is an absolutely outrageous goal.

What a strike off the bar, everyone who wants to know how to volley a ball watch it tonight on Match of the Day. Wonderful strike!

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 85 mins

    Newcastle 1-2 Man City

Gabriel Jesus goes off slowly on the far side. On comes Rodri.

Christian Atsu replaced Allan Saint-Maximin for Newcastle a few moments before that goal.

When you need your big players... Huge goal.

  9. goal

GOAL - Newcastle 1-2 Man Citypublished at 81 mins

    Kevin de Bruyne

    WOW.

It's a screamer. A beauty. An absolute corker!

Benjamin Mendy's cross is headed away but Kevin de Bruyne chests it down and absolutely thumps it into the top of the netting, off the underside of the crossbar.

Unreal! Big, BIG goal for Manchester City. The title race isn't over yet.

  10. Postpublished at 81 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

Another corner for City. Another cleared away, only as far as the halfway line.

    It's getting pretty tense now.

Bob Moss: Anyone else thinking this is Pep's last season with City, they look a shadow of the team from last year.

Not even a Newcastle fan but I would love to see Almiron finally score because he always gives his all every game.

  12. 'City should be leading'published at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC 5 Live

Manchester City should be leading. It fell right on the penalty spot for Bernardo Silva, you think surely it will be a goal but he drags it wide, poor finish.

What worries me is Newcastle's counter-attack. City should not have to rely on a late goal.

  13. Postpublished at 80 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

Allan Saint-Maximin is all on his own as he chases a long ball. He has two defenders and the keeper charging out at him but he's dispossessed fairly.

He's hurt though and he's down in a heap, clutching his leg. The fans are booing as they think there's more in it. There definitely wasn't!

  14. Postpublished at 78 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

There's a real urgency about Man City now. Dare I say, a panic, even...

John Stones flaps his arms in the air as his header is blocked in the box from a Kevin de Bruyne corner. He thinks the defender has had the last touch. The referee doesn't agree.

  15. Postpublished at 76 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

Kevin de Bruyne has three players around him on the edge of the box. Jonjo Shelvey's backheel flick brings it out wide and Newcastle counter.

Miguel Almiron charges away, beating one player before he's brought down - rather controversially - by Benjamin Mendy. The referee lets play go on and Raheem Sterling is only denied by a brilliant last-ditch tackle from Javier Manquillo.

  16. CLOSE!published at 73 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

Phil Foden doesn't get enough on his header in the six-yard box and another chance goes begging for Man City.

It's still alive when it falls for Bernardo Silva on the edge of the box but he snaps at it and it's dragged wide of the right post.

  18. Breaking team news - Hammers keeper Roberto droppedpublished at 14:00 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019
    Breaking

West Ham keeper Roberto has paid the price for some less-than-convincing performances recently.

The Spaniard is replaced by third-choice David Martin - son of Hammers legend Alvin and signed on a free from Millwall in the summer - who makes his debut.

For Chelsea, Olivier Giroud makes his first start since 18 August.

  19. 'Poor finish from Jesus'published at 13:59 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Newcastle 1-1 Man City

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC 5 Live

In this second half it looks like City are playing a testimonial game: they are too slow and are not going anywhere.

It was a good chance but a poor finish from Jesus who had both sides of the goal to choose where to shoot.

Finally we’re seing Foden and Bernardo Silva coming on.
