Sheffield United keep the ball moving. You just expect Billy Sharp to head into the back of the net but he just completely missed it.

Almost, almost! It's a classic Blades move of finding the wing-back in the centre-forward position and then laying it out to a centre-back on the wing. Jack O'Connell's cross from the left is really well flighted but just as Billy Sharp is set to head home it's nodded out of his range.

Andy Carroll is a real weapon in there. Normally you want your tallest player on the opposition's tallest player but they are letting Andy Carroll be spare and he's doing a really good job in there.

Andy Carroll is then involved at the front post of his own goal and almost scores a crazy own goal, heading a mile into the Sheffield sky and causing a right old stramash. Newcastle clear, another corner!

It's really interesting watching both managers on the touchline at the moment. Both are really animated but Chris Wilder is trying to get his team to play with more intensity while Steve Bruce is trying to get his team to calm down.

It could be a lonely night for poor old Andy Carroll, he's just closing down one centre back and then another on an infinite loop.

John Egan met it very well. Unfortunately for him, it was just above Dubravka and it's a save you'd expect him to make.

Another effort on target and another save for Martin Dubravka as John Egan heads powerfully but straight at him.

This is a different type of challenge for Sheffield United now. Teams are starting to sit deep against them, because they're so respected so we'll have to see if they can break teams down.

Kyle: Delighted Newcastle are ahead. However Sheffield United don't deserve to be behind they have played some superb football and luckily Dubravka is in top form. Hopefully Saint Maximin can kick on now and score a few more. Brilliant header from him.

Steve Bruce will be happy so far, not only with the goal, but this team have also been quite organised defensively.

I put this picture in an hour or so ago from a game last season, and I'm 99% sure I've just seen this same guy wearing/not wearing this exact same outfit in the Newcastle end.

Can anyone confirm?

Lovely, lovely ball into the channel from Enda Stevens, Billy Sharp is onside but always stretching to reach the ball before Martin Dubravka and in the end he can only clip it into the side-netting. Good movement from Sharp though.

Sheffield United have made exactly 100 more passes than the visitors but Newcastle look like they know how to put 10 men behind the ball alright. A wall of black and grey.

Once you're in the frame it's pretty hard to get out of it.

Plenty of touchline chatter between Messrs Wilder and Knill, but they'll be largely happy despite the scoreline. It's been all Sheffield United bar the goal.
