Aston Villa v Leicester (14:00 GMT)

If it was anyone else in Liverpool's position I would say the title race was over. But... you know... it's Liverpool.

Great news for Leicester fans, even better news for fantasy football managers... left-back Ben Chilwell is back for the Foxes.

On a similar theme, Lys Mousset returns for Sheffield United at Norwich.

And up at St James' Park, Joelinton is back up top for the Magpies. They love a number nine, don't they?

    Full deets on the way.

The teamsheets have been scribbled out by Messrs Smith, Rodgers, Bruce, Hasenhuttl, Farke and Wilder, handed over to the referee for inspection.

All good. And about to be revealed...

Looks a doozy of a winter's day down in Aston.

Fingerless gloves and sunglasses required for our man in the press box.

    BBC Sport at Villa Park

The last time Leicester City visited Aston Villa they were en route to the Premier League title. The hosts, meanwhile, were heading for the drop.

Both sides are placed at similarly opposite ends of the table this time around, but there is a bubbling optimism around Villa Park from the home fans this afternoon that maybe they can upset their Midlands neighbours and move clear of the relegation zone.

Then again, maybe it’s just the winter sunshine.

Hello! With Manchester City's title hopes seemingly ended by their noisy neighbours, the onus appears to be solely on Leicester to liven things up for the rest of the season.

Liverpool are guaranteed to be top of the tree at Christmas whatever happens over the next 17 days.

Leicester might need a step ladder to reach the Reds but three points at a bright Villa Park today will give them a leg up...

While Pep Guardiola all but conceded the title last night, Jurgen Klopp will not be counting his chickens just yet.

And neither will Brendan Rodgers. The Northern Irishman was, of course, bossing Liverpool in that 2013-14 season. Gerrard's slip, Ba's composure, Selhurst Park tears... you remember it.

This time the Leicester manager will be hoping for another Liverpool capitulation.

Can you really win the Premier League title by Christmas?

    Mathematically, no.

    Practically, yes.

    Unless you're Liverpool...
