    Brighton 2-2 Wolves

Did the ball hit Lewis Dunk's arm? Think so. But he couldn't move it out of the way as he was laid with his face in the floor. No penalty.

  2. VAR

    Brighton 2-2 Wolves

More groans from the Brighton fans when Dale Stephesn gives away possession in his own half. Pinball in the Wolves box, arms and legs flailing like a moshpit at a raucous indie gig.

Wolves demand a penalty. Over to VAR....

They are playing some good stuff Brighton, they are knocking the ball around.

Mooy again is at the centre of things: he has been terrific. It really feels like an even game now.

Seems a few Brighton fans are getting huffy when their team is playing the ball around at the back and not being more incisive. Maybe I'm getting the wrong end of the stick.

Dan Burn tries to dance down the left flank with a drop of the shoulder that would make Arjen Robben's YouTube reel.

Unfortunately the rest doesn't quite match the Dutchman's level.

There are a lot of games where the full pitch does not get used often, but this game has been all over the pitch: every part has been used.

There are areas to exploit if you have the ability to do it, and Wolves at the top of the pitch look like they have a better edge than Brighton and this could be the difference in the end.

Can Brighton capitalise from the set-piece? In short, no. Wolves half clear, only to Leandro Trossard. His effort troubles the ball kids, not Rui Patricio.

Neal Maupay would be a pain to mark. Lots of sharp movement and only needs an inch or two to get his shot away.

This time the Brighton striker forces a corner with a quick-thinking strike from 25 yards.

    Brighton 2-2 Wolves

Brighton have been most effective when they have picked out a quick forward pass. Don't mistake them for long lumps up top, they are measured and precise after the Seagulls patiently build up.

This time, however, Steven Alzate's cross is a little too strong for Neal Maupay.

    Brighton 2-2 Wolves

Diogo Jota, chasing a hat-trick remember, harries after a quick ball forward down the left. Mat Ryan is alert and races out of his box to clear. Sweeper keeping at its finest.

There is a lot to like about Neal Maupay. A neat cushioned touch sets Pascal Gross scampering down the left, his cross met by a swinging size 10 from Conor Coady. And that sets Wolves off on the prowl...

    Aston Villa 1-4 Leicester City

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith talking to BBC MOTD "We were too open and they were clinical. It became a basketball game and they were more clinical than we were.

"The lads don't give up, they kept going. Leicester are a good team, they have confidence but we felt we could have a go.

"There wasn't much tactics involved, Vardy has gone over the top a couple of times and scored. We have a lot of lessons, we are still growing.

"That is the biggest kick in the teeth and set back we have had."

  18. 'A perfomance that rounds off a good week'published at 17:28 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Aston Villa 1-4 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers speaking to Match of the Day: 'It was a brilliant performance, we wanted to attack from the first whistle. We knew it was going to be tough, but our approach was great, we scored very good goals and in the second-half we kept going.

'I am disappointed we conceded before half-time but in the second half the message was to keep doing what we have been doing. We could have scored more goals, it was great we kept attacking to the end.

'The confidence comes from working very hard in training and be prepared to suffer: today was brilliant and it rounded off a very good week for us.

'Leicester is a fantastic club, the people who run it are first-class, we want to keep moving forward playing well.

On Kelechi Iheanacho: 'I am delighted he scored, he works so hard and has a great attitude. He’s getting a reward for his hard work, he’s now getting a real confidence in his game: a fantastic goal, good movemetns and he really worked hard today.

  19. 'Great quality from both sides'published at 17:27 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    HT: Brighton 2-2 Wolves

    Alan Pardew
Former Southampton and West Ham manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

A great half of football, great quality from both teams: Mooy ad Stephens were outstanding , Jota looks on fire and Jimenez caused problems with his pace.

It is the right result: Ryan made two important saves, I think Webster look shaky and there’s a lot coming down his side and he needs a word at half-time.
