We have a great game on our hands. We have a Tottenham side that from the top end of the pitch is mouthwatering, the goals they are scoring are second to none. They are creative. Then there is the Chelsea team who have been lapping up the plaudits all season and rightly so for it's youth. There is a big test for them tonight and Frank will have them ready.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, speaking to Match Of The Day: "We didn't deserve to win the game by the way we played. We were too slow in possession, too slow without the ball, not enough intensity.
"We didn't have enough to get back. You have to be out there and ready. First half both teams were slow. If you don't take your chances you get punished.
"We didn't deserve it today. They took their chances. We didn't take our chances. You have to earn every inch, every chance."
On David De Gea mistake: "It's one of those things. He's been so good in training and focused. One goal is a mistake and the second is penalty. David's been very confident lately and I don't look at any other way."
On Paul Pogba's comeback: "The big plus is Paul coming on. And that's the one plus. He added urgency, quality, some great passes. The boy has been working hard. He's fit and leaner. He'll bring us a lot. He is important for us. He makes us create more chances."

Watford goalscorer Troy Deeney speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "I am over the moon but we are not getting carried away. It's one win but we need to keep working hard. All the players put a shift in and that's what we need between now and the end of the season. The gaffer has been great. It's not been an easy start for him but it's been a blessing in disguise because we have had to roll our sleeves up as people had written us off before the game had even started. It gives everyone confidence and the fans deserve that."

Dele was already a great player. Mourinho has not created that, he has already been doing that for a number of years. He had a bit of a lull and he knew he needed to step things up. When Mourinho went to Chelsea, Frank Lampard was scoring goals for Chelsea but Mourinho brought a mentality to Frank's game that elevated him to that world level and I am hoping that is exactly what they are going to do with Dele. Dele's ability is second to none, that's not the issue. I think what Dele needs to realise that it is where he can take his ability to. Mourinho sees that he can elevate him.

Gaddafi Lansah: With a change of formation by Lamps, it might or might not work for us. I feel Alonso will be terrible as usual and Dave doesn't have the legs to play on the wings. I want to be surprised though.
Simon: Chelsea's formation today should surprise even Morinho. A back five, one center back supporting the left back and the other supporting the right back while the third center back coordinate things. All fingers crossed.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard on switching to three at the back: "There is a slight change - you don't need to be a rocket scientist to work out what we're doing.
"It is about how can we be at our best against a top team but it is more about what we can do."
On his good record as a player against Spurs: "That counts for zero! I had some good moments against them, and some not so good moments, but the quality they have it means it is going to be difficult today."

Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho on what he expects against a side managed by his former player Frank Lampard: "I know him well as a player, and a person too, but being a manager is a different thing. I analyse Chelsea as Chelsea, not Frank.
"We are an offensive team, that is what we are, so we want to attack them. But we also want to be solid defensively because we have been conceding too many goals."

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, speaking to Sky Sports: "We started the game slow. The first half was very, very poor from both sides and when you concede two goals like we did in quick succession with their two shots on target we gave ourselves too much to do.
"We had been doing well but you have to earn every single point in this league. It was too slow, it was like a testimonial in the first half from both teams."
On De Gea's error: "It was a mistake, it happens in football and it is what we train for every day to make sure they don't happen again. David has been very good lately, it is just one of those things that happen.
"You have to earn every point on the pitch and today we didn't deserve that. I can talk about it all day long. We have to face the fact we have two games coming up that we have to improve on."
On Lingard's miss: "Ben Foster stood up so I don't think a chip was the right option. It was a good run, we could have been 1-0 up but it happens. Sometimes you miss the target and sometimes you score.
"We need a reaction."

Dave Payn: With de Gea perhaps there’s only so much a goalkeeper can do to bail out a dreadful defence. Over the years he’s saved Man Utd from being in far worse positions, particularly in the Mourinho era. He needs another challenge.
Let's put this into perspective, Man Utd are an advent calendar of points behind Liverpool!

You could mark it off as one bad performance - they are unbeaten in six but you have to step back and wonder where this performance has come from. It was not just bad as in off games for players but for the whole team. They did not have the energy, their passing was poor in places. They did okay in the first 15 minutes. The miss from Jesse Lingard could have been a turning point. It was have been a completely different story but across the ball there were lots of things that just did not work.
Watford 2-0 Man Utd
Manchester United
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, speaking to Sky Sports: "We were sloppy and gave the ball away numerous times, especially in the first half. I felt in the first half the game was there to be won. We should have scored in the first half. We have to be better against these so called lower opposition sides who have a deep block.
"It was little sloppy errors on the ball. We had control of the first half, they didn't really threaten but we didn't keep the ball with high enough tempo. We'd end up giving it away and they would counter. We've got to do better."
On Lingard's first-half miss: "He knows he has to score. That was a big chance in the game. The first goal is crucial. I missed one against Newcastle and we went on to lose. He has missed it, we moved on. We still had to go on and win the game but we didn't.
"We were not good enough and we have to improve. It is something we cannot put our finger on. We are working hard in training. It is disappointing.
On De Gea's error: "David is a top keeper. I have only been here a few months but he is a world class keeper. We will get round him and on Boxing Day I am sure he will pull off a top save."
Watford 2-0 Man Utd
Watford remain bottom despite the win but are now level on points with Norwich and six off safety with, arguably, some winnable home games coming up.
