    Brighton & Hove Albion

Poor Alireza Jahanbakhsh - finally scores his first goal for Brighton and still gets dropped.

He's one of two changes for the Seagulls as Webster and Alzate return.

Chelsea make three changes as James, Jorginho and Pulisic all come in.

    Full teams to come...

Successive matches over the festive period against the sides in the bottom three was supposed to provide an escape route for Aston Villa. Instead, two defeats in those games has dumped them back in the relegation zone.

A trip to Turf Moor is hardly an auspicious start to the New Year for them given that their last victory there was over 60 years ago. More worryingly, this season on their travels they've picked up a paltry four points.

On paper it's the perfect chance for Burnley to address their own post-Christmas blues, losing without scoring to Everton and Manchester United.

    Brighton v Chelsea (12:30 GMT)

    Simon Brotherton
    BBC commentator

This is a fixture without a rich history but certainly one dominated by Chelsea, who enjoy a 100% success rate after winning all nine previous league encounters. Brighton's only victory in a competitive match was in the third round of the FA Cup way back in 1933.

A tough start to 2020 then for Graham Potter's team against opponents who've won seven of their last nine on the road in the Premier League.

Chelsea's latest away win saw them overcome a rough start at Arsenal on Sunday. A tactical tweak and subsequent impressive second-half performance led to their first come-from-behind win all season, while Albion saw off Bournemouth at home for their first victory in five.

How well do you remember the past 10 years? Well enough to ace our monster quiz?

Manchester City won four Premier League titles in the decade, empires rose and fell, Leicester went from the Championship to the Champions League and through it all James Milner kept getting 7/10 every game.

There are a mammoth 126 points on offer...

It's that time of the season again.

Clubs will be on the hunt for a bargain or big-money signing, whether they are aiming for the title, looking to clinch a European spot or trying to avoid relegation.

There is one interesting point to consider this season - players who have played for one team in Europe are no longer cup-tied when they move to another club participating in European competition.

So could that mean clubs are more willing to splash the cash?

The Wolves goal at Anfield and the Pukki goal were watershed moments for me.

A confession: I was all for VAR coming in to football.

'Won't it be great to know that all decisions are right?' I thought.

Who cares about a bit of a delay, it's all about consistency.

Reader, I was so, so wrong...

How I imagined our office would look like in 2020

    Well, sort of.

It was more like a trawl up a hangover-scarred M6, A 15-minute login into a Windows 98 tower, followed by a blocky, non-HD feed of the football that you would complain about if you were watching through a game gear in the mid 90s with the hope of a cup of tea from Andy Cryer.

Still if there's one thing that VAR has taught us in the last few weeks it's that technology isn't everything is it.
