Qaaltagh: VAR IS FINE. IT'S THE RULES THAT NEED CHANGING. It's not hard to understand. I don't believe that every pundit, player and fan are too stupid to understand this, so WHY everybody keeps saying VAR is the problem, I have no idea. Beyond frustrating and ridiculous.

Ryan Howard: Blame the new handball rule, not VAR.

West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes speaking to BBC Sport: "First of all I thought my players were terrific. We didn’t deserve to lose.

"It was a good goal. Anybody who has played football or been around the game knows it was a good goal. Declan Rice did really good to break through the middle.

"I’m just telling you it’s a really good goal. From my point of view and the people who watch football, the decision is not right.

"I wouldn't say I’m a great fan [of VAR] but we having to come to terms with it. People who have played football know when it’s not right and tonight is one of those situations.

"It took us a while to settle but we were twice through one-on-one with the keeper. Unfortunately we didn’t take the chances but I can’t fault the players.

"We had a couple players out with illness but I’m always willing to give the youngsters an opportunity but hopefully we’ll have some back in the future."

Sheffield United

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder speaking to BBC Sport: "I think second half we better then the first, we livened ourselves up. Not at our best tonight but a huge three points.

"I feel for David [Moyes] and the players. The same thing has happened to us a few times. But we would've been devastated if we’d have drawn that game.

"Soon as they scored, no one was looking at it but I felt for the opposition – it's the same moan and groans as we've had in the past.

"We had to improve the performance because tonight wasn’t at our best. We've had to grind one out. We gave the ball away cheaply. We had two or three really good chances but did’nt take them.

"We made a poor decision late in the game but that's what happens when you go backwards and they came on to us.

"We didn’t feel under big pressure and didn’t feel like there was a big momentum for the opposition."

On his contract extension: "You work hard and the club want to extend. Everyone knows how I feel about the football club.

"There's a great spirit here and to climb into the top five at this stage of the season is a tremendous achievement."

West Ham boss David Moyes, speaking to Sky Sports: "We were worthy of at least a draw, maybe more. We are disappointed we scored a good goal and it didn't count. The defender did well, got his head to it, headed against Declan but it was a good goal. Whoever checked it I think got it wrong because it was a really good but of play by Declan Rice, where'd you put your hands, tie them behind your back?

"It doesn't change my view we scored a really good goal. I am a football man, watched and played it all my life and it looked good enough to me. Overall I cannot be disappointed with how the players played. Not at all."

On Fabianski's injury: "He felt something in his thigh. I hope he will not be out for long but until we get the scans we won't be able to say conclusively what it was."

West Ham boss David Moyes, speaking to BBC Sport: "We scored a good goal to equalise. I thought Declan had done brilliantly to break through the middle. He played a good pass and we scored.

"I thought it was a really good goal."

Kieren Rees: That ridiculous law needs to be binned from next season especially because they can’t even be bothered to see handballs in Watford games three opposition goals they have missed.

Robin Smit: Why are fans and pundits complaining about VAR? It came to the correct decision as the handball law is there for a reason. Take emotion out of the decision and you will always come to the correct answer.

Dennis Ethan: How do you tell the board that VAR chalked off goals that would have stayed us up

West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, speaking to Sky Sports: "We are fuming. All the lads are livid. This is a tough place to come, credit to them they ground it out. We created some chances and missed some chances. The goal at the end was a tough one to take because a point on the road would have been good for us.

"I've just watched it back. He has knocked the ball into my hand. If you are running with your arms like that with the rules as they are now it is handball but it is not intentional. It is a kick in the teeth.

"I think it is the thoughts of every Premier League player, not just me - pretty much every one doesn't want to have VAR in the game. There have been so many decisions this season that have been absolutely crazy. They were celebrating VAR like it was a goal and football should not be like that. We are not too happy but it is in the game now and we have to get on with it.

"I can't get over it, he knocked it into my hand. It is not intentional handball. I was buzzing. I ran 20 metres up the pitch, slipped the ball in for Snods."

Declan Rice is speaking to Sky Sports now and, understandably, is fuming.

Tom Maurice: No doubt, Sheffield United the better team but to have a goal ruled out like that is an absolute shocker. VAR is ruining football.

Unless VAR gets these decisions correct - which in this case I think it has - you can just see the emotion and excitement being taken from the game and all it's doing is making people furious.

Luca: How has that been disallowed? VAR has done its job fine but the handball rule and the offside rule are jokes. It’s not football anymore!

Adam Kitchener: Don't start blaming VAR.. its the rules that are idiotic.

It's huge. Huge in the season, huge moment in the game. You think of the effort, the sheer industry of both sides. It's been a tough-fought game for the whole 90 minutes and the players have put everything in.

VAR once again takes centre stage with yet more drama and the post-match thoughts from the managers will be interesting.

Chris Wilder has been a big critic of VAR in the past this season. Wonder how he feels now...
