Oh West Ham should be ahead!

John Egan fluffs his attempt to clear a long punt forward by West Ham and Felipe Anderson is in on goal. He tries to place his effort into the far corner but succeeds only in sweeping wide.

A let off for the hosts.

West Ham win their first corner of the game as Aaron Cresswell's cross deflected behind. Fabián Balbuena is the target of the delivery but Sheffield United get to it first and clear.

Once again Felipe Anderson is forced to run across the pitch rather than towards goal. Sheffield United are doing a good job of nullifying West Ham's creative players.

The words from inside the West Ham camp were 'night and day' since David Moyes came in. Sometimes as a fan and a pundit you wonder why things change suddenly when a new manager arrives but as a player, it's hard to describe what happens - a change in manager just brings that freshness.

Mark Noble whips the ball into the box but John Egan is well placed to clear ahead of the lurking Sebastien Haller.

West Ham failed to clear on two occasions and Lundstram's strike just surprised him a little bit. Balbuena managed to block it but I don't think it was a strong shot.

Arthur Masuaku tries to pick his way through the Sheffield United defence but loses his footing as he finds himself quickly surrounded.

The Hammers haven't really threatened yet but they will probably be happy to have largely weathered a bit of a Sheffield United storm in the first part of the first half.

Enda Stevens is caught again by Felipe Anderson and Sheffield United have another free kick around 40 yards from goal.

John Fleck delivers, Declan Rice half clears but only as far as John Lundstram, whose goal-bound shot is cleared by Fabian Balbuena.

Kyle: Sheffield United have been a breath of fresh air this season. It's a joy to watch and just goes to show with good sensible investment and a top manager team's with that don't have loads of money can still get into Europe. I hope they finish in the top 6.

That is an absolute nightmare for West Ham.

Lucasz Fabianski has just returned from three months out following his surgery.

It was that problem that effectively cost Manuel Pellegrini his job given deputy Roberto failed to keep a single clean sheet.

West Ham are lining up at the return of Darren Randolph from Middlesbrough. But that deal has been held up. You've guessed it. He is injured.

It's a tough gig for David Martin, coming on after 14 minutes when there is so much time to go. You just want a good first touch, just get the ball for some early control. His heart will be going at the moment, it's a massive occasion for him.

West Ham going long with their attacks as an excellent ball from halfway by Felipe Anderson finds Sebastian Haller just outside the box. He has Chris Basham for company but does well to get past the Sheffield United defender only to send a poor shot sailing high over the bar.

The problem for West Ham is, when a ball comes in for Norwood and Sheffield United are attacking it with such pace - and they time it right - you don't stand a chance defending against it. And this is one of the problems with zonal marking.

Gutting for Lukasz Fabianski because he can't continue. He looks so disappointed as he trudges off the pitch. David Martin is on in his place.

Sheffield United dominating possession in these early stages. West Ham have struggled to get out of their own half so far.

Enda Stevens wins another corner off Pablo Zabaleta and the home fans roar with approval. They are loving this good start by the hosts.
